i think it’s a discipline problem. Instead of drowning themselves in Grey Goose at Bayou, they should be preparing themselves to win 10 out of the next 11.
They get paid either way and I can’t say that if I was 25 and making hundreds of thousands a month, I wouldn’t be doing the same thing.

^^ Every team in every city does the exact same thing. If you’re worried about in season distractions, look a little further past a city like Buffalo. There will always be the young guys looking for new ways to spend their big money. Be happy we have players who dont generally get into legal trouble.

The Sabes always come out strong in the first then come out skating like the SABAH kids the 2nd and 3rd. It’s not due to lack of talent it’s due to lack of effort.
The funny thing is that this style of play is completely opposite from what they were for the last 3 years.
I mean honestly how many times were we down 2 or more goals and everyone thought: “We’re gonna win” and then poof we rally in the 3rd to win it.
I miss that team.
Now we’ll be up by two goals and all I think about is that if we don’t score that magical third goal we are going to get screwed.

Drury was one player I’d like to have kept, Briere was so-so especially in the playoffs where he had almost no points. Soupy I’d like to see stay, he was one player who actually enjoyed being and playing in Buffalo.
i liked campbell big time, same with drury. f briere. what people often forget is that while we lost briere and drury, we also lost zubrus who was a fucking beast in the corners
Drury has a lot of talent, it’s a shame he’s not showing it in NY (rangers). Briere was small and injury prone, yeah he did get a lot of points but so did Pominville, who isn’t turning up anything this year. Campbell was a solid defensemen (maybe not one of the top) but you could see he played a veteran style of hockey. Zubrus, IMO, was either hot or cold. I liked his physical presence on the team.
Zubrus was always destined to be a rental player.

If there is one player I’d love to get back it’s Drury.
It won’t happen after management pissed in his face (the whole agreeing to a contract mid season, shaking hands, then never bothering to fax over the paperwork to be signed thing), but he was a true leader and with our horrible coaching/motivating that’s something this team could really benefit from.
Campbell too, but for the money he’s getting Chicago can keep him.
