Official 08-09 Holiday Valley thread

tuesday wasnt to bad of conditions, they were groomed fairly decent and there wasnt to much activity on the hills that day, im sure yesterday was the same. should be fast conditions.

tuesday i finally decided to try something new. anyone that knows the names of the runs knows sunrise. when your towards the top of sunrise you get to the point where it drops really hard. it’s usually all moguls but this time it was flat, so i decided to jump it. boy was that fucking fun. did it once not knowing what it would be like, landed about 15 ft down the hill. realized that i could hit it a lot harder and leap off harder. so i hit it again and landed about 30 or so ft this time, so my buddy was telling me. still felt i could hit it harder but i was in a lesson at the time. cant wait for sunday to hit it again harder! so fun, highly recommend any advanced skier or snowboarder to try jumping/leaping off the ledge of sunrise with some speed!

I live up here and Killy is my home mountain. The jumps this year have not been large this year. The park has decent flow, but certainly has no monster. If you’re riding park on the east coast, you go to Mt Snow, VT or Loon, NH.

That said, we may have some monsters up as lower Dream Maker is closed for rebuilding in preperation for the Grand Prix of snowboarding next weekend. They built some monsters for the slope event last year. Pipe is also getting rebuilt so it is a 22 or 23 foot walled pipe.

As I said though, traditionally, Killington is not the place you go for park riding specifically. There are MUCH better mountains on the east coast for that.
