So its getting closer and closer to that time of year, where we all pull the gear out of the basements/closets/garages, and look towards hitting the slopes.
I for one am very excited to get back on the board to hit up holiday valley and bomb some runs. hopefully the year kicks off great and the weather holds to keep some nice snow on the ground and not create layers of ice, which will probably still happen.
So just figured id get this thread started seeing as its a matter of time before we have that first snow fall!

bought it 2 years ago. i got the hatchet tuned up buy you guys for buying the board and bindings. i had it on hold for a while as well. but if you work there, im wondering if we have road together at holiday before.
For anyone interested; I’m getting a whole group together to meet down there Monday Nights after work. The place is normally dead so you can ride all you want and not have to worry about lines or having people everywhere. I’ve been down there Monday nights where I’ve probably seen 40 other people in the whole place.
once january comes around, then mondays will get a tad bit more busy due to ski club, but still not bad at all. any day usually during the week is great to hit it up.
Yea, but 4-6 busses on a Monday or Tuesday compared to 30+ on Wed-Sunday is no comparison… Been doing Mondays/Tuesday nights for years there and I’ve never found a better evening time for those of us who work “normal” jobs… lol.
Can’t wait as well, this is going to be my 9th year on the slopes. Still on my original board! (Nothing it wrong with it, no need for me to waste money.

or over dressed, to where you are sweating and your sweat freezes on your body. thats the problem i usually have with gloves and socks. i get to sweaty and then it starts to freeze on me. shitty!
Hmm… ok, anyone have recomendations on Gloves? I need a new set this year. My Dakines worked great for about 2 seasons but are now in pretty rough shape.
Looking for something with a removeable liner though; gonna be making a few trips out west to Utah and Colorado, plus some Vermont trips so I want them to be able to be “adjustable” for normal cold, or super fucking cold.
I ride K2 silencers (twintip)…mostly do all mountain with some park fun. I’m in Roch…but I’ll be making a few trips out to Holiday like I do every year.
As for gear, you all should get to know these two sites…they’re like woot but for skiing and snowboarding, and instead of one deal a day, they have one every 20 min (usually repeating a couple of times a day)
