Because I want it in HD and any of the free streams are usually pretty shitty. I have FIOS TV, so if I wanted to watch shitty SD I’d just tune in there, but watching hockey in SD on a 58" TV is just sad.
Almost all games are on VS or NBC so you have the HD channels…at least I do :shrug:

You’ve also got to be excited that last year, how many upsets were there? My bracket was shot after the first round. The NHL is great because on any given night, any given team can win.
What record? So we played pretty damn good the past month. It wasn’t against a team like Philly every night. If Philly can get their feet on the ground, they are going to steam roll the Sabres. The Flyers are deeper than any other team in the NHL. Our players have confidence? Okay, I don’t even know what that means…They barely sqeaked into the playoffs, how confident can they be? Can they be as confident as the Flyers who only won 7 of their last 21 yet still trumped their Division? You know what trumps confidence? Experience. Philly > Sabres ten fold in that department.
Couldnt disagree more. Philly is in a slump and have been for over a month. The sabres are the hottest team in the nhl since janruary. A team thats on a hot streak fairs pretty well. Id be shocked if this series only lasted 5 games. Buffalo will take at least 1 in philly
Beck, I cant wait to see the Sabres show you what they are capible of. You even said yourself your more of a hockey fan than a Sabres fan so I think I am fighting a losing battle here anyways. Im just going to let you eat your words when the Sabres take it in 7. The Sabres are the hottest team going into the playoffs hands down. in january, it was statistically shown that the sabres would need to be the BEST team in the nhl for the rest of the season to make the playoffs. What’s up 7th place? Sabres are a great team.
Oh, the Sabres have played great. As stated before, I am happy to cheer for them and I would love for them to go as far as possible. I just really think it’s going to be VERY tough if Philly gets a game or two in hand. Mike Richards is going to be absolutely insane. Pronger can fuck with people’s heads and take an entire team on his own. The only factor in this series is goal tending. If Miller is anything less than stellar, we lose. Oh and yeah, this year the Flyers lost 10 out of the last 15. Well, last year’s Flyers also lost 10 of their final 15 games. What it comes down to is the Flyers are the deepest in the league up front, and everyone has experience.
Another large factor is if Ruff decides to play Kaleta instead of letting a guy like Mancari play more.
I agree with everything you said about the flyers, but completely disagree with the statement above.
Our defense has been beyond on point lately, passing has greatly improved, veterans of the team are starting to make plays and goals again coughConnollycough, Gerbe’s on fire, and we’ve been killing powerplays like its our job. On top of that, Miller hasn’t even been playing more than a two periods combined over the last 6 games, which we’ve won 5 of. Enroth (who I’m on the fence about) isn’t bad overall, but he’s not an outstanding goalie, and our team has still been killing it.
Now, I’m not saying (or guaranteeing!) that the Sabres are going to make it anywhere in the playoffs, but do I believe they have what it takes? At the moment, hell yes.

Both played last game. Personally I think they have both have good (but different) qualities to bring to the table, but that’s just my opinion.
Think about last year what killed us? Power Play…we scored ZERO times against the Bruins on the powerplay. This year it’s much improved.

How do you know it’s improved? They haven’t played a playoff game yet. We had a pretty decent reg season power play last year too. In the playoffs it disappeared.
Oh and if you want to win in the playoffs, you need to keep Kaleta off the ice. If you’re going to try and agitate Philly it won’t work…they have too many agitators themselves. You need to out work them and capitalize on opportunities and bad plays. Oh and when you’re on the powerplay don’t let Mike Richards get between you and your goaltender. The reason we did so well the last 10 games is because Kaleta wasn’t out there leaving his feet and taking stupid ass penalties. Want to win a series? Stay out of the fucking box. Kaleta, don’t fucking try to headbutt people.
You really want to keep this “momentum” that we have going right now? Keep the team together how we have. Fuck it, throw Neidermeyer, Kaleta and Grier on the 4th line and roll 3 lines all series long. The Blackhawks did/do it and they are all wearing $50,000 rings right now.
Yeah Kaleta really isn’t an asset other than occasionally he can piss off the other team and they’ll take a penalty. But a 5 minute boarding call, or charging, or w/e really isn’t the smart way to go. Wouldn’t mind seeing a Portland player in place of Kaleta.
I’ve yet to witness Kaleta deliver a clean hit that would be considered “big”.
