OFFICIAL '10-'11 BUFFALO SABRES SEASON THREAD

Trade MILLER!!!..oh…wait…Sabres won, nevermind…GO MILLER I LOVE YOU!

Anywho awesome game…

Now put Enroth in. Miller rarely has a good game after a shoutout but hopefully this will be one of those rare times and maybe we can score more than 1 goal next game.

if miller can keep it a low scoring game then the sabres have a good chance like we have seen, but when the goals start racking up they need a lot of help because we cant score as much as philly

the only reason we cant score as much as philly is because miller has been sub-par this season. 2 great games and 2 lousy games. i wonder which miller will show up friday? I still say trade him while he is worth something, Enroth is the future of the sabres.

I’m in NYC and let me tell you, there is quite the Sabres following here

LOL. Enroth has played 15 games in the NHL. Also, you wouldn’t get in return for Miller what you think you would. $6 million dollar goalies are few and far between and not in high demand. Regier is the only GM in the league that believes you need to build “from the net out”. There is only one goalie in the playoffs making more than Miller, that’s Luongo…and believe me, he’s not worth that either.

Like it or hate it, Miller is average 70% of the time, but stellar the other 30%. You’re stuck with him.

PS - Poor Kaleta couldn’t keep up with his linemates, what the hell is Ruff thinking?

A few “what the hell is Ruff thinking” moments last night.

#1, Kaleta, Gaustad and Vanek. Vanek’s expression of “what did I do to deserve this” as Kaleta crashed into the net on a 2 on 1 was priceless though.
#2, Not benching Timmy C so he would get the message that partying the night before the game isn’t a good idea. Worst game I think I’ve ever seen him play.
#3, Pulling the goalie with 2.8 seconds left and it almost resulting in a goal.

yea seriously

I cannot believe that Kaleta fell into the net on that 2 on 1. What a fucking putz. Why is he even on the ice?

I think the people who want miller to be traded are out of their fucking minds. Typical Buffalo fans though.

It didn’t even make it to center ice before the period was over, let alone almost being a goal

First thing that came to mind was Mighty Ducks with that fast kid who couldn’t stop. lol

I’m not in the hate Kaleta camp, I’m glad he’s on the ice when we’re playing a team like Philly. I just don’t really want him matched up with our supposed superstar.

Agreed and i am not in the trade miller camp and never will be either. He is still a phenominal goalie most of the time, sure he has sub par games… what great goalies dont? miller has maybe lost us a handfull of games at best this season, ive watched every single game this season and the reasons we barely squeaked into the play offs is because of lack of heart and lack of scoring at crucial times and not because miller didnt play his best.

Connelly needs benched. If I see that mouth-breather shuffle up and down the wing and fake a shot only to quickly throw a bad pass five feet behind the point-man I’m going to shit a square brick, ship it to him and make him refund me postage

Kaleta has been one of the best players out on the ice, so i dont get this hate kaleta shit. He attracts penalties and gets us power plays. He got us a 5min that we fucking blew. I can honestly say miller is probably the reason we lost game 2,3. He lets in super soft goals at inopertune moments. “superstar” goalies arent supposed to let in 3-4 goals a night. let alone 5 goals in one night. Yes miller has played incredible in game 1 and 4, but he is very inconsistant. i agree that connoly needs to be benched und buttler needs to get his shit together before he loses us the series single handedly. WTF… pomniville finaly earns his over priced pay check. about fucking time. I cant wait for game 5, i think the sabres realy need to steal this one away from home.

I dont think we should trade Miller but I think he’s always been over-rated and overpaid. I really wanna see Ruff put Vanek at the point on the powerplay and Gaustad in front of the net. Vanek’s a lil more creative with the puck instead of the other guys at the point passing it back and forth until one of them decides to takes a shot.
Kaleta is playing a bit too hard. He’s like that kid who sits on the bench the majority of the game and the coach puts him in and he skates all over the place chasing the puck. Crashing into the net I thought was hilarious. Reminded me back when playing street hockey when I was a kid and my friends who didnt know how to stop on rollerblades.

Connelly was shooting the puck more late this season instead of dancing around and passing, I dont know why he reverted back to his old ways last night. He has been a key guy for sure on the penalty kill.

Yessir! I want the Rangers to start winning so I still have people to talk to hockey about.

I’m finding the Miller comments in this thread quite amusing. I loved his comment last night about how he feels about his critics. Most if not all of them don’t know a thing about goaltending. If there’s anyone who should be traded, it’s Enroth. He showed some great stuff at the end of this season to turn heads, but he is not Buffalo Sabres starting goaltender material. But I think he can make a go of it on another team if he continues his strong play at the NHL level. We’re talking about a guy here who was the ONLY goaltender in his draft class that came in under 6 feet tall. You can’t deny it, size has become a tremendous advantage to a goaltender.

As for Miller, while it appears his game may have declined a bit this season, it’s still remarkable what he has done with the lack of a strong defensive core in front of him. I’m not trying to rag on them because some of them are talented, but it’s more so offensively. We don’t have any solid stay at home defensemen. I do not see Miller blowing the next opportunity the Sabres get with some goal support. Give him 3 goals and it should be a guaranteed win in the playoffs. Even 2 and a win can be expected.

Subscribed, so i remember to watch the next game
