OFFICIAL 2013-'14 BUFFALO SABRES THREAD

That’s because most Sabres fans get too emotional about players…OMG Gaustad, how could they trade him, he was handsome and nice, and once took a picture with me. Psssshh gimme dat first rounder

Leino needs to go.

Not that anybody gives a shit about the Sabres anymore but, Miller and Ott to the Blues.

Goalie Ryan Miller and center Steve Ott have been traded to the St. Louis Blues, the team announced Friday.
The Buffalo Sabres will receive goalie Jaroslav Halak, forward Chris Stewart, prospect William Carrier, a first-round draft pick in 2015 and a third-round draft pick in 2016.

Man, I’m pretty bummed about this. I know it’s for the best and that both of these players were going to leave after the season was over, but it’s sad to see Ryan leave. 12 years with the organization and he is a great person for the community. I hope there is room on the St. Louis Blues bandwagon because I’m punching my ticket for that ride.

Doesn’t look like the Sabres are done either. I expect a deal to come with Ottawa for a combo of maybe Stewart and Moulson or Ehrhoff. I really want Moulson to stay, but I don’t see it happening.

I’m pretty bummed too, but I’m excited to see what happens with the Blues in the post season now. And if we end up with two 1st round picks because of it I’ll be pretty happy.

I don’t think Moulson is going to stick around. I’m betting on the Sabres flipping Halak and Stewart to another team, maybe in another big package trade with other players.

And now Lafontaine has resigned, WTF Buffalo!

All aboard the derailment

Lafontaine has less than 6 weeks experience when he came here. Dude hires a GM and then gets all pissy when the GM starts taking control. If Lafontaine wanted final say over roster moves, he should’ve been GM. We lost nothing more than a nostalgic figurehead. If anything, people will stay the fuck out of Murray’s way.

Lafontaine pulled led the same shit in Long Island 8 years ago.

Between waiving Tropp, signing D’Agostini and the Linus Omark mess, good riddance Patty.

Yeah someone posted something similar on Twitter… said he didn’t want to be GM, then got mad when he wasn’t didn’t get to make GM decisions…uh ok?

Spot on, should have just named himself GM. I actually would not have minded that one bit. But the real question now is will Nolan stay?

Apparently they offered him a 3 year contract extension.

My guess? They offer him everything in their power for him to stay. You lose Lafontaine and Nolan, you’re going to lose a lot of face.

Nolan is the best option for any team right now. Laviolette is still around, but he tends to lose the room around the 3rd of 4th season. He’s better suited for an already competitive team who’s coach can’t get it done.
