Oh, yeah it does look like an iphone. That side button’s in about the right spot for the nexus though. That would make more sense, though an iphone would be hilarious.
my mind = blown…wow huge upgrade from gingerbread hell even honeycomb. face unlock is probably what im the most excited about. The fast camera is tits too!!
I am downloading the SDK right now and cant wait to try it out, no sleep for me tonight
looking over the changes in 4.0 im upset and relieved that the same time because they finally added a real Calendar API to ICS but I am mad because I just spent the better part of 3 months adding/testing calendar notifications to my app, oh well such is life
I dunno. I followed the webcast but not too closely. Face recognition is gay. I don’t want to have to look at my own ugly mug every time I turn my phone on. Not to mention it didn’t work.
Otherwise looked like some nice ICS refinements courtesy of WebOS, but nothing ground breaking?
I hate to say it but between Siri being something paradigm shiftingly new and it having the best camera in a mobile ever (it’s better than the Nokia N8) I’d say the iphone 4S is more exciting. Though the lack of 4G would keep me from ever buying one.
well cant the same be said about the new iphone since you are using that for comparison, the only thing that’s neat about that is siri but really how many times are you really going to use it?, the camera on nexus galaxy has yet been tested so you cant even compare the camera’s yet. I think the face unlock is neat because I never liked the idea of an unlock pattern then leaving your finger prints on there. Data control is a pretty nice feature too especially with the data caps being put into place
Looking forward to people actually having hands on experience with ICS, hope it lives up to the hype.
TANGENT
I am really anxious to root my X2, the one-click root method looks easy enough even a dummy like me can do it. But, will I still have the ability to sync my work email (Lotus Notes)? Or do some of the security settings/encryption loosen up, not allowing me to keep that feature?
Wow. Engadget’s got a bunch of sample shots taken with the nexus posted. Either they were doing something wrong or the camera sucks ass. Half the shots are out of focus and anything with any sort of motion is blurry. They’re all grainy and washed out. The pictures from the Nexus S look better.
It might have something to do with the zero lag shutter, and them not waiting for the phone to focus before hitting the shutter. They definitely look a little grainy, though.

To respond to the iPhone hype/features vs. Android ICS, all I have to say is “no 4G, no care”. I refuse to be stuck with a device for 2 years without 4G service, plain and simple. Also, still no turn-by-turn navigation in google maps for iPhone. I use the naviagtion WAY too much to go without it. Both are deal breakers.
Engadget put up a video of the face unlock and its pretty impressive how fast it works, it looks faster than actualy unlocking the phone manually. they said that they even had to slow it down to make people think they had some security

Well obviously you can do more with a rooted phone so yes some security does change but not to the extent I think you mean, you have to approve all things that use root the rest is just like before
Hrm. Well that would be different. Maybe they developed the zero shutter lag nonsense for this purpose? I hope you can set multiple “users” so I don’t have to unlock my phone for my wife every time she wants to use it.
She usually uses it for like 2 minutes then gets frustrated. I don’t get it. She had an incredible for a year. MIUI is even easier to use than sense. She must have some sort of iphone induced mobile idiocracy going on.
I swear as my fiancee gets older she’s becoming more technology illiterate. The other day she had me come upstairs because the tv remote wasn’t working. I get up there and the cable box is COVERED in stacks of paper. Needless to say, she felt pretty stupid about it without me even rubbing it in. She’s usually not bad with stuff like this.
