verizon droid

Anybody else get it today?

:number1

I don’t know about you but I love it!

Other than the USB charger is overly short, I am loving mine. BTW, do you know how to install custom mp3 ringtone without an SD card?

Still figuring it out only had it about 2 hrs

I see. I am still installing apps

Which one?

Neo9187h got it today as well.

I’m very curious to see how it is, and get my hands on one.

Competition is great, because even being an iPhone fan boi, I expect this to be a better phone and I’d debate getting it for At&t once it’s available.

However, this will force Apple to step up their game and improve on the iPhone even more for the next edition.

In company competitions over product, consumer typically wins.

Two of my IT co-workers got em today as soon as the doors opened. They also are loving it. I had a chance to tinker with it briefly, but not much.

First thing I noticed was it’s WAY heavier than the iPhone or Pre. Also, it’s quite large. Maybe I’m just used to my Pre though.

Either way, looks like a good phone.

i heard this thing has 12 useless apps or something along those lines

Come on now…

Just like the Pre, it takes TIME for the developers to write shit for a BRAND NEW phone. Don’t make this one of THOSE threads man.

It’s not like the iPhone had 23203423424 apps on day one. It took forever for the iPhone as well.

Not sure why Skype can’t be run in the background like Google talk, so you have to keep the app launched to keep you status…

Is it going to be available for AT&T? I hope it comes to sprint, i want to get it!!!

USB is WAY too short!!! ugh!

Did you fig out the ringtone issue?

I have always been a fan of the iphone… wasn’t willing to leave Verizon though… so far love this thing… you should def find one to play with…

weird…

doubt it…

i didn’t think it would. i mean it wouldnt make sense to have it on the same network as the iphone… :lol

i just bought the blackberry tour about a month ago, wish the guy had told me this was coming out…but im more than happy with my BB

the tour is a good phone… they didn’t tell anybody really including employees…

We were talking to them about it last night when buying mine… Only 1 employee at the Clifton park one was able to buy the droid as they all bought the new BB when it came out as they didn’t know about the droid and now have to wait a few months before they can get it…

The oem usb cable is a joke…Just go to ebay and buy a 15’ usb cable for $1.99 instead.

Once you mount the phone as a storage device, you should be able to transfer files from your computer. long click on a sound file like a mp3 song and you will have the option to use it as a ringtone.

Soooo this thing rock or what? I was gonna go pick one up tonight.

IMO, if you love getting music online and love the infrastructure of itune, then iphone is the way to go, not to mention there are literally 10x more apps for iphone than android 2.0.

I like the fact that the phone is running an open source OS, how the google apps are integrated to it, the new GPS functionality and the very good coverage. I didn’t even get any SMS package with my plan as now all my SMS is sent thru my google voice account unlimited and for free.

I just wish the Droid had that cool F1 app…
