My N4 is 100x’s better than my S3. I unplugged this morning at 6am

Whats the word on the DNA?

I need to get a replacement within the next month and this looks like a winner…

My Galaxy S is on month 16 and killing itself quickly…I had it in for repairs about 3 weeks ago, they replaced the touchscreen, earpiece, microphone, and forward-facing camera under my insurance plan…phone worked like new for about 2wks, then started having random freezes…these freezes have gotten progressively worse to the point I’m not having to pull my battery and reset roughly 6x a day. It will freeze on it’s own without me even using it… I.E. I’ll come into work, shoot a few text message replies, set the phone down…and 2hrs later check to see if I got any messages and it’ll be frozen…I can get on my google voice on the computer and retreive all the (otherwise lost in space, never-would-have-known-I-missed) messages that should’ve came through had the phone not self-froze. The Galaxy S is a slider with full keyboard, and the top half since being replaced has become “loose”, as in it prys away from the bottom half as if going to pull apart. Last night/this morning was like the icing on the cake…I plugged my phone in when going to bed last night, set my alarms, returned to home screen, locked the screen, and set the phone on the night stand. fast forward to my panic-wakeup at 8:08am when I should’ve gotten up around 7:15…press screen button, displaying 8:08am, unlock screen…and the home screen/clock shows me that at 1:48am the phone froze coincidentally not setting off my alarms. FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT. I can’t express enough how much hatred I have for the upgrade policy changes so that now you cannot re-sign at 1yr…you can only upgrade at 18months. I don’t know if I can make this POS last until June 10th.

I can’t decide if I should take it back in and see if they can fix the loose slider issue and maybe reset android, or if I should just root/rom again(haven’t re-rooted/rom’d since I flashed back to stock for insurance claim) and try to limp it through. UGH, I just want a new goddamn phone.

Root + Rom

I had it on CM10 for about 2 months before the screen and earpiece shit the bed…I haven’t done any research on what else is out there now for the Galaxy S…want something light and bare-bones so I can enjoy good battery life (currently going 12-14hrs on a single charge on stock rom)

I would go with the Galaxy S3

Download goo.im and check for available roms.

Stupid answer for anyone that read the actual description.

The phone is physically falling apart and probably has loose wires on the inside. I had similar problems with an Incredible after an unsuccessful screen replacement. I think the screen was moving in the bezel and pulling on the plug/ribbon. Either get it fixed or get a new device, even a used craigslist device would probably be better.

I must have misread it then. I thought he got the physical defects fixed at Sprint. I thought the phone was just freezing up.

I do have two OG droids available, but they’re for verizon.

sounds like the phone is physically shot

yeah, they replaced a ton of crap…now that you mentioned ribbon I remember them saying they replaced that as well. this repair was done about 4wks ago…UGH. I wonder if I go back in and say I’ve been having issues again since the repair if I can whine enough for them to let me upgrade early without penalty (assuming they let me re-sign my everything-unlimited plan)

I’ve heard verizon is now forcing out of the unlimited plans upon upgrade/re-sign…my buddy said F that and went to staight talk and says he hasn’t had a single issue with service in the 4months he’s been using it for $45/mo.

makes me want to just go with a nexus4 on straight talk or net10.

Dude look at your chart. The battery up-time doesn’t reset until you get a full charge, which in your case was 19 hours ago. Your phone did not recharge. It looks like you had about a 15% bump in power in the last 19 hours, so with 15% left that means you got 19 hours out of a full charge, not 3 hours. Pretty good for a 4G phone.

So why didn’t it recharge when it sounds like you had it plugged in overnight? Loose connection? Bad cable? GFI pop?

Android OS being on top just means you don’t use your phone much. Here’s mine from today when I haven’t used it much.

good points Fry, it definitely doesn’t look like it charged overnight.

get out of here with your logic.

(it seems my bedroom cable is on its way out, the one at my desk works fine)

You’ve got to stop using it to tie up the woman.

stop watching the webcam

No

I can not move apps to my SD card on my Dorid M.
Via google this is a common problem, anyone else run into this?

excuse my ignorance, but why would you want to move apps to an sd card?
