The UI is having some issues i guess slowing it down a little but thats probably a software fix. The phone is big but not too big and the car mount for it is sweet. You really cant go wrong with any of the newest android phones though. The incredible, droid x and droid 2 are all really fucking awesome phones. Even the new samsung is pretty great. They all have iphone humpers in denial.
I just got mine on Wednesday. I was unsure about the size and was waffling with the Incredible (which my wife has) but I’m glad I went with the bigger one. The incredible’s UI is nicer, but I like having the extra real estate for typing, ebook reading, picture viewing, etc. Speaking of typing, Swype (which comes with the phone) works so friggin well that I’m not even going to bother learning how to peck at little virtual keys. (This is my first touch-only phone.)
Make sure you understand the memory difference. The incredible has 8gb of internal memory, but only 512 for apps, the rest is storage. The X has 8gb and it’s all for apps and messages and other stuff. It comes with a 16gb storage card. So it’s basically got unlimited room for apps.
alright, considering android for AT&T. who’s hardware doesn’t suck? HTC or Samsung? are there any differences between the OS on either of them? is droid droid and that’s it? or is there differences between the hardware of the two? just tired of biased reviews and everyone sack-riding.
The Samsung Galaxy S is real nice, its almost as big as the Droid X, but has a thin profile. I thought it was a very nice phone.
<EDIT>
Apparently (I haven’t used the phone) AT&T likes to get their hands in the mix for some of the droid phones. The Aria is supposed to be one of these cases, and overall (from the website) I wasn’t overly impressed with the phone.
the Captivate by Samsung and the Aria by HTC are what AT&T has to offer right now, or at least through Amazonwireless.com which is where i got my E71x from.
Thanks for all the help. I’ll be going with the X. Can’t wait for Sept 10th but I know i’ll prob have to wait to get it since they are in such high demand.
yeah i have an evo which is basically the same size as the X and yeah it took a hot minute to get adjusted to it but now i love it.
i found a nice automotive news app, its called auto express and it has a widget that scrolls through auto news articles. figured it would be good since this is a car website
I got mine half a week before it said I would
