Official BB Crew Thread

The Niagara will be known as the Blackberry Tour.

such a gay name

We’re seriously going out on a limb here, but we’ve received word the BlackBerry 9630, the device we all know and love, will make its debut into the world as the BlackBerry Tour. Not even going to comment on the name, we’ll leave that up to you. Just know this is viciously unconfirmed, but hey, it sounds like something RIM would think is cool. Plus, wasn’t there rumblings about U2? Just sayin’…
P.S. That same tipster confirmed release of the device in “early summer”
UPDATE: Thanks to one of our awesome readers, they’ve just alerted us to the fact that www.blackberry9630.com (something RIM would obviously own) and www.blackberrytour.com both point to the same IP address. Additionally, they were both coincidentally registered on the same date. Welp, it looks like BlackBerry Tour it is!

The Life on BlackBerry® Tour is a nationwide event marketing tour that will leave consumers with an understanding—perhaps for the first time—that BlackBerry is more than a device for phone calls and email. It is everything they need, all in one place. The tour comes to A La Carte & Art May, 17-18 in downtown Mountain View.

OK then. May 18th. 3 weeks away it is.

^^^ LOL. This is why “Tour” is such an awful name if it is true. Too confusing. The 9630 is still slated for June/July release.

By who?

By Verizon. Rogers is probably getting it first. Right now they’re just trying to get the software right but it’s coming along well, unlike when the Storm was coming out and the software was a disaster.

Will BB GPS tell you how fast you’re going with much accuracy? Like if I’m out in a boat without a speedometer?

EDIT: Nevermind, 2 seconds with google shows that all mapping programs really will show your speed. BB Maps included.

I believe my contract expired yesterday. Now a test of willpower. I will wait for the 9630. I will wait for the 9630. I will wait for the…

I’ve used BB maps, it seems pretty acturate.

Good enough. I’m about to pitch my i760 out the window. I think I finally figured out why it has always randomly decided to stop automatically going into standy and thus sucking my battery: I have my data blocked so when I get sent a MMS it keeps trying to grab it, even after I delete it, until I hard reset. :feck:

if you want a 8830 to get you by, lemmie know sir.

Incoming PM…

Has anyone ever used one of those ads off craigslist where they can unlock a blackberry from at&t to use for tmobile, I didnt really trust it so i didnt take my chances but i have heard from other people some are legit and work. I have a pearl now that i just broke at work and my boss gave me a pearl but it is for at&t and that does not help me right now. any ideas?

Call you carrier to unlock your phone

T mobile will unlock it even though it is a at&t phone?

No, call AT&T

Hmm, I guess this thing’s pretty neat. Can you see each other’s BB messenger contacts or something? How is it that I’m getting random friend requests from weirdos like nikuk and fbrendan? :stuck_out_tongue:

They’re a package deal. Did you add geehee first?

yea, I told them to add you. BBM contacts are private, and everything is encrypted end to end. The only device that can decrypt those messages is the device you are sending it to.

Pay attention to your D’s and R’s, and make sure to learn how to attach nudes within a message!

Jeff sent it to me, although I already had it from when it was his.
