shit we could use him tonight even if he doesnt know our lines that well id throw him out there with briere or possibly vanek and stafford.

possibly vanek and stafford.

no way thay line is superb
once healthy, i see drury centering kotalik and hecht as a serious power line
or of course could save zubrus as a center and move briere to wing with pominville to add some bulk to that short pansy line lol
im very skeptical of zubrus’s numbers thus far since he’s been playing with ovechkin the last two years and reaping the benefits of such…i highly doubt zubrus will be a player who will put up big numbers for us, rather he’ll fill in the gaustad role of big guy who can toss the body around yet still be a playmaker
and unfortunately i think i also see zubrus as being hired help for this season only as i doubt he could squeeze 3+ mill a season out of regier for a multiyear deal…unless he buries 10 goals his first week or something…
however, at this point, id rather have zubrus as hired help than biron as hired help. in all fairness to regier, this is the best move he could have made. trading biron as talent now rather than having to trade him before he became an unrestricted free agent was more beneficial to us. i am VERY surprised however that we traded him to an eastern conference team. somehow i don’t see him signing a long deal with philly and rather possibly still looking into free agency during the offseason. however, us getting phillys 2nd round pick works because (in assuming we finish on top of the league), it allowed us to trade our top pick away to washington in that we would only drop one position in the draft by doing so…whatever, still alot of time left to analyze this trade…don’t we play philly one more time this season?

Too many noob Sabres fans thinking about Peters as being tough. Rob Ray was tough. Rob Ray would shit on Peters.

agreed…peters needs to learn to fight… stop dancing, and start throwing body parts. not to mention, ray could contribute to the game a bit more

peter’s tries to hard to be a “fighter”.
Ray WAS an enforcer. granted, it was a different game then.
with time, Peter could fit that role. I think he needs to spend a summer training with Rob :mamoru:
idk, peters rocked mcgratton, and i wouldn’t say that he is a shitty fighter at all. he CAN fight, but i hate it when both players stand in front of each other like they are going to box. peters and ray fought pre lockout when RR was on ottawa and i believe it was a draw.
as for zubrus, i think he will flourish on the sabres. his -17 is a little worrysome, but then again, he was on the capitals. ovechkins line or not, i think he is capable of putting up some points. he most likely is just a rent-a-player, but if he does really well here and only wants 3.x million, 1 of the 2 of drury and briere is going to leave, so it is possible that he will stay.
either way, i’m super pumped to see him in the lineup. 6’4 and 2xx. sounds like he will fill gaustad’s role perfectly.
Briere’s sick and will not play…AAGGGHHHHH!H!!!
Might be a good thing the way Toronto likes cheap shots.
We’ll be 1 guy short on the bench. He got sick during the day today per WGR and we did not have enough time to call someone up
we should just call up all the Amerks until playoff time
Tim Kennedy, also a local i played against, is a prospect. he plays for michigan now…but had something like 91 pts in 04-05 for the amerks. hes good
who is even next to be called??
Zapagran most likely. But it’s too late, they will play shorthanded.
5-2 laffs
and is anyone feeling kinda bad for edmonton? i do. smyth started off in edmonton and he was their leading scorer this year. imagine how we’d feel if drury or briere were suddenly traded…
oh well, that’s hockey.

lol, there was no “suddenly” about it
smyth has been trying to work out a new deal with edmonton for weeks, they didnt give it to him so they traded him :gotme:
smyth, guerin, and bertuzzi were the big 3 on the trading block this year
it does suck that edmonton is severely crippled now tho…
seems like a lot of oilers fans around the boards are pretty surprised about it :gotme:
that pominville goal is EXACTLY what Zubrus is going to offer us… OOOOO I’m excited…
its kind of amazing how much of a Rock in the corners Sudin is… the man gets checked pretty good, and doesn’t move… he’s fucking solid
