Official NHL 2010 Trade deadline thread

Ding ding ding ding… we have a winner!

The Sabres are mediocre. If it wasn’t for Miller, we’d be just above Toronto in the standings. This team will not make it past anyone in our division, come playoff time. Ottawa, Pittsburgh, Washington, Jersey, and for christ’s sake Philly is creeping up on us.

The last 20 games are going to be fun to watch when the sabres go 3-15-2.

if and when we make the playoffs…we will be out in the first round for sure.

Derek Morris to Phoenix from Boston

we need some firepower up front…I think Vanek could really compete with a malkin with the right linemates. The more I see Roy play the less I like him. Pominfail can leave, and Stafford needs to do something as well.

for a 4th rounder in 2011

ugh

you are on crack.

They have lost the last 7/8. That’s not sketchy or anything. It sucks that we have such an awesome goalie and our team depends on him to win games for us most of the time. The offense needs to step it up and make some more goals happen and defense needs to protect the puck better and not give it up in front of the net.

Martin Skoula to New Jersey

I’m just curious as to whom you think this team would be able to beat?

Lets pretend that statistically, the season ended tomorrow and it looked something like this (based on the teams last 10 games, multiplied by 2 and then a few upsets here and there for good measure). This is where we’d be looking.

Washington
Pittsburgh
NJ
Ottawa
Philly
Buffalo
Boston
NYR/Tampa/Montreal

I wouldn’t feel comfortable playing anyone other than Tampa. Every team above us whom we’d have to play would chew us up. Hell, we’d probably get swept by the top 4.

only reason we have a chance at the playoffs this year is cause of miller end of story, he covers up everything that is wrong with the team and makes it look like we are good

Boston acquires Seidenberg and Bartowski from Fla for Craig Weller, Byron Bitz and a 2nd round pick.

Aaron Ward to Anaheim for Justin Pogge and a draft pick.

Only 2 teams scare me from the top 8. NJ for their potential to play great playoff hockey, and Ottawa who just has our number. You could maybe put Pitt in there.

Washington is not a good playoff team, we can take Philly or Boston easy in 5-6 games, Tampa is a joke.

My biggest complaint about the current team isn’t the actual personnel right now, it is their dedication to playing. The D has been playing like poo lately, but has shown this season that they can all shut down teams. The forwards aren’t going to put up huge numbers not matter what, it is not the style of play this team is built around. So long as Miller continues to play as he has I would take us in a playoff series 9/10 times.

For at least the 1st half of the season this team has played playoff style hockey and it worked. They have gotten away from that quite a bit lately, but remember it is a VERY long season.

haha typical deadline…all of hteir competition gets better, Buffalo sits on their asses or gets worse.

last minute they are going to grab biron for like a 3rd rounder or something, and thats still not going to help them win a series.

Scott Walker to Washington

Yan Statsny traded to Vancouver

Peter Mueller to the Avalanche.

heard it hasnt been confirmed?

edit: now they’re saying it is official, as per denver post
