Official NHL Trade deadline thread

i really dont think Campbell plans or wants to stay in buffalo. He knows he can get far more money playing on a team that is not struggling and is in a top play off spot.hes saying the exact same thing that drury did last season. Hes closing off negotiations with darcy untill the season concludes. He wants and plans to see what other teams have to offer, if by some chance he does stay it will prob end up like another vanek story making an outrageous amount of money per season. They need to do something tho because campbell leaving with leave an even bigger whole in our struggling defense.

Pratt sucks, but Paetsch i can definitely see. Sekera…dont know

Sukera is the next Kalinin and that is not a good thing.

Why the hell would Florida get rid of Jokinen for Campbell and Kalinin? If we’re just going on ideal trades, then mine would be Campbell, Kalinin + the rest of the Buffalo Sabres for the Red Wings.

Anyway, if the Sabres don’t move Campbell and actually sign him for more than $6 million, I’m finding a new favorite team. He’s good, but not that good.

And it looks like the Souray deal worked out really well for Edmonton, huh :stuck_out_tongue:

the problem with the marleau deal is he’s carrying a pretty hefty contract himself, which is why sj wants to unload him.

Giants won the superbowl from the Wild Card spot, its possible

What are you even talking about… And Obviously from this point sabres arent far out of playoffs, but that doesnt mean theyre going to make it? They had a lacking season, and them pawning campbell off for little wont make the team any better…

but it does mean that they wont make it:roll2:

go play with your mustang little boy

what am i talking about… hrm lets review.

  1. the sabres currently are IN the playoffs, contrary to whatever alternate reality you are living in.

  2. while it doesnt mean they are going to make it, they are peeking at the right time - during the 2nd half of the season.

  3. YOU are the one that said they would trade campbell because the season is over!!!

 please, take a few practice rounds before you step in the ring with Ali! :wiggle:

see quotes by YOU from ABOVE

the sabres getting hot at the RIGHT time of the season this year versus last year when we started out hot and coasted into the playoffs? i don’t see why we WOULDN’T make the playoffs with the way we’re playing. points in our last 9 games? 7 of those are wins? against teams currently seeded higher than us? zomgnoway :ohnoes:

your “knowledge” of hockey is stunning…the sabres OBVIOUSLY know with 20+ games left that they have no chance of making the playoffs, so its time to have a fire sale…its only a matter of time before they realize thats the only choice they have left right? :ham:

“let alone do decent”…wow…6 games over .500, on a 9 game tear, and currently IN the playoffs, and only 10 points out of first WITH GAMES IN HAND…but hey, the management KNOWS we aren’t going to make the playoffs let alone have a decent season

dude, i thought espo brought hockey threads to new lows, but you have taken the cake. i offer you the solemn advice of staying out of this and any other hockey thread forever to preserve whatever respect you might think you have from other members of this forum, b/c its quickly going out the window with every word you type here :sario:

Miller: 24-17-6 , 2.41GAA, .914 SV%
Biron: 20-14-4, 2.69GAA, .917 SV%

:gotme:

for nearly the same pricetag, i’d still stick with miller IMHO

and my cat is a better goalie than teeBO, its useless to even put him in there for comparisons sake lol

ha look where the sens trade got them tonight 5-1 ass wooping! if that says the sabres are dead in the water and not going to make the playoffs then you are on crack, sir. i know there is a long way to go but i think that we will pull it together.

Sabres are in 8th but the team still needs to be shaken up a bit…I could see one of Afinogenov, Kotalik, or Kalinen being moved.

i love how some people in here talk like the know everything about hockey but have probably never played in an actual hockey game or watched the sabres for a long time. That cracks me up lol.

My input…

  1. Sabres are a small market team and do not care how good a player is…if the money isn’t right, they won’t keep them.
  2. Sabres will wait right until the trade deadline to make a decision, even then they might not do anything. I think they will at least trade campbell for some help on offense seeing the defense is doing good with a few players that can still step up if need be.
  3. Vanek will continuously do better…he needs to work on his speed though. He is so fuckin slow lol

i’ll post more when i think of them . .

How can you say Pratt sucks??? He doesn’t stick out…but you wanna know why?? Because he’s a smart defensemen and he rarely makes mistakes. Thats why paetsch got sent down cause he was always messin up lol. We don’t need a team of Campbells cause we would lose every game if we did.

agreed , i think signing pratt was one of the best things weve done this season.Hes not fancy like campbell but he gets the job done 100%

the same thought has also crossed my mind in the past, i won’t lie

i’ve played hockey since i was 4… ice and roller. Played on the top travel teams, played four years varsity for my school. A junior roller hockey team that plays all teams from canada. Have actually played in the aud and HSBC arena…that don’t really matter though lol. Played against Kaleta. And have watched or listened to almost every sabres game since i can remember.

Just a little info on me lol…

…But back on topic

i know plenty of people that have played hockey, yet have the perceptive skills of a 3rd grader. so, honestly, i dont really see how your hockey playing history matters all that much.

you have either played or not. doesnt matter where, or against who. really, unless you play in a semi pro or pro league, we are all just fans. some people understand the game and how pieces of the puzzle fit together, and some people dont.

my point is this: playing hockey doesnt necessarily qualify you to have a more valuable opinion than someone who doesnt. however, it clearly does provide you with experience that could help you to more intelligently decipher a situation. but, interpreting each situation still requires you to have good perceptive and comprehension skills, which on this forum, certainly are NOT a given.

sorry, back on topic.
