How about a facebook app?
You don’t like the facebook bookmark that you can download?
Well duh, the mobile site is pretty good. But a good old fashioned integrated app is tough to beat.
Fry uses facebook?
And indoor plumbing.
:tif:
We don’t all have balconies…
Well the E72 is out right not at best buy unlocked. I am not sure if its out around buffalo yet. The reason there hasn’t been advertising is because its unlocked and can be used on any carrier.
The N900 will be out in a few weeks and is expected to retail around $65 when released.
No need for a 3rd party app. Symbian does this from the factory. Home screens can be setup several different ways (I can’t speak for the locked / branded phones though.) My home screen shows all my up coming meetings, tasks, to-do list, unread emails, etc. So anything I want it to show really.
I have a facebook app on my phone, although I don’t spend a lot of time there. All I did was log into Facebook from the internet browser and it gave me the option to download the app
Really? Built in options to put stuff on the home screen? Impressive in a “why the fuck don’t all smartphones do that?!” sort of way. That video link you posted also had a page on how to delete the carrier-specific junk from the E71x. That doesn’t fully “unbrand” it, but gets rid of the crap.
lol, yeah I know it seems almost too basic you’d wonder why more ‘smart’ phones don’t let you do that. But you have to consider we’re in the US where service providers love to limit what users can do and charge fees for stuff that should be free… not to mention our 2nd largest service provider doesn’t use GSM leaving consumers to buy phones made by companies that also make refrigerators and washing machines…
Worldwide, 47% of all smartphones use Symbian. That’s more than RIM (BlackBerry), Windows Mobile and Apple’s phone OS combined. Not to mention that it’s the most stable OS. http://www.gartner.com/it/page.jsp?id=910112
And Nokia E-Series phones are business-specific devices, not some toy for 16-year-old girls to txt their bffs. You should expect a business phone to cater to the needs of their target market.
No kidding. Verizon’s second largest? Is AT&T first?
Yeah I was dumbfounded when the Tour, which was marketed as RIM’s VZW business flagship, didn’t come with a “Today” theme. I had to wait for them to release development tools a month after the phone and then make my own theme. I still can’t put tasks on it. Their Plazmic development tool doesn’t support it. :roflpicard:
Ouch.
lol, saw that this morning and was gonna post it
Too bad that 35% is still kicking everyone else’s ass.
Here were the Q2 numbers.
The loss was largely a book loss, anyway. “impairment charges” means realizing hits in book depreciation, the actual money is either already lost or builds reserves in anticipation of potential future losses.
in english please, you know I don’t speak spanish.
they posted a big ass loss because they just put some money into reserves so it doesn’t count on their books. They can dump it out later and back onto their balance sheet and show bigger profits.
N900 plus $50 unlimited Voice / Data / Everything plan?
I may just have to jump on this if it happens.

i run Skyfire for a browser, full page loads, no mobile websites.
i’m by far a guru as i’ve only had it going on a month. but i’ve been a Nokia Rat for some time, few older Nok’s but the recent (modern) ones have been; 6230, 6300, now E71x (yes it’s branded, yes it’s a fggt phone) i’m just broke, and it was cheap $27 to my door, Amazonwireless.com $30 data for 6 months (required by TOS) then sim swap to $15. Amazon operator told me to do it, lol, just warned me about the 181 days i had to use the $30 data to get the $250 discount or they’ll whack my AT&T bill for the cost of the phone.
i spend a ton of time on here reading
Got my e71x sitting next to me now… How the fuck do you use this thing?
