***Official Nokia Crew Thread***

Did you put the SIM in?

LOL :zong:

I’m just trying to learn how to beat the thing into submission. Got Nokia PC Suite working, X-Plore doesn’t want to install on the phone for some reason. Oh what fun. My wife was off to the races on her iphone in minutes. Hence the success of the iPhone: insanely user friendly.

Oops, nevermind. It’s kicking ass now. Had to unplug, then reconnect for some reason.

Cool, most of the crap is gone. Still gotta nuke AT&T music, cellular video, and at&t gps, and landmark, then I’ll be in good shape.

That’s one area where WinMo has an advantage, PC Suite always pissed me off compared to ActiveSync.

I dunno, I’m finding that PC Suite works waaaay better than activesync. Syncs with Lotus Notes for one, and you have more control over what syncs in which direction.

For some reason I always had bad luck with PC suite not recognizing when my phone was plugged in, and I could only fix it by restarting the computer completely. :fu: At least they finally ditched the stupid fucking POP PORT

I read that quick as POP TART.

I want a pop tart.

make mine maple and brown sugar PLZ

My phone is as thin as a pop tart.

Now to find a case and screen protector…

I know you’re an engineer, but you better not get a belt clip. Especially for something that’s about as thick as 3 credit cards.

Yeah I think I might actually forgo a holster on this one. Loose/thin dress pants & blackberries/winmo phones mandated a belt holster, but this one is small enough that I’m just going to get a hard case skin type thing and stick-on screen protector.

belt clip is acceptable in a corporate environment. nothing worse than a PDA phone poking out of your khakis.

belt clip is never acceptable. Might as well just get a fanny pack for it.

nah bro. I <3 my belt clip with dress pants. cant beat the sleep function either.

Damn. Locations don’t look like they’re syncing from notes meetings…

The only problem I have with PC Suite is when I connect it via bluetooth, sometimes PC suite doesn’t say “connected” yet the phone connection is active works like normal. Minor bug.

So… Internet radio? Looks like Pandora and Slacker are both negative.

Good sites to read/learn/download?

Good apps?

S60 forum on howardforums.com and worldofgsm.com

Symella- gnutella client for symbian, download shit directly to ur phone
Smartmovie- Convert AVI/MPG to a format that’s really small and plays great on your phone at like 100MB for a full length movie
I used to use Mundu radio when I wasn’t using XM, worked well.
Nimbuzz/Fring- VOIP calls
Garmin Mobile XT- download it and enjoy free full-function GPS without using data
Skyfire- good browser
Vtap- watch flash videos on youtube et al much easier

Forgot, Last.fm is the same thing is pandora, but IIRC they were going to start charging $3 a month for it. Not sure if they ever did

i’ve ran slacker through skyfire but the audio is horrible.
