Hmm, I couldn’t get mobbler working. Must be operator error. I’ll have another go at it…
It looks like PC Suite is being replaced with “Nokia Ovi Suite.” Seems like Nokia is trying to create a seperate Ovi brand for Symbian stuff. Maybe this one will sync locations from notes.
I’m seeing what Walter means about the e71x being castrated. Can’t customize the idle screen as much, can’t install unsigned apps. I’m still happy with it for $50 bucks, but what a pain.
here’s an E71x owners smorgasbord board. Nimbuzz is an Aim/MSN ect ect client, that will run off Wlan, or any other network, and then let you use VOIP from your address book even with the SIM removed.
lol I tend to blaze way past my own understanding when learning computer things, relying on being able to start over.
Hence I think I installed two email clients at the same time, that conflicted with each other, and wound up with a couple copies of my gmail account, a couple of blank email entries, and a half dozen question mark entries.
:zong: hard reset.
Anyhow, is there a way to get threaded sms on this thing? After all the shit talking I did about BB not having threaded SMS I find out that neither does Symbian. It seems that WinMo and iPhag are the only ones with native support.
free-isms looks OK, but I need a signed copy because AT&T neutered my e71x. :feck:
I honestly don’t know if you can get threaded SMS. I have no use for it so I never looked into it. I need to save individual comunications that come straight to my phone for work, not have an AIM-syle conversation like a 16yr old girl and her BFF
I just installed Nokia Messaging a few weeks ago and it shows odd replicates of email addresses, now this makes sense. Can I get rid of it w/o the hard reset? The only other email program I had set up was the original one.
Nice. OPDA has an english site so us round eyes with neutered e71x’s can start signing our own applications. My own cert key thingamabob should be arriving soon, then I can sign free-iSMS and have threaded text messaging. Fucking finally. :run:
Anyhow, it took about 7 hours but I got my developer’s certificate and key from OPDA so now I can sign any unsigned applications. So I signed free-iSMS and now have threaded text messaging on my e71x.
