you could buy a 80’s corolla and track that, and the money you will save on gas = profit. its what all the cool kids are doing.
meh, they’re just too damn old now.
flatblak is a good driver and i cant wait to see how he does in the f-bod … maybe he will let me take it for a spin, will be more of a slow cruise around the track as that car scares me
Ill probably be there with either a stock A4 or a heavily modded Golf…
I think it scares you because its big, and feels sloppy currently, and the seating position is so low, you have no perspective on where the front of the car is.
I’m looking forward to getting more experience behind the wheel
EDIT: Just Registered
Bump.
Was all set to sign up for this…but will be in Minnesota for my sister’s wedding:(
ugh… brake fade was scary as hell…
my biggest problem was my tires (well driver too :)) I left curve grande like 10mph slower than someone like Silver, and the s2k’s were staying close all through the rest of the track… The main straight was where I made up my time… and LOTS of it, especially on the S2k’s
As for my mods coming into the track day (I can’t make may 23rd :() I have new stock size slotted rotors (12" front and rear), Hawk HP+ pads, Stainless Lines, ATE Super Blue (No more FADE!!). And despite what MPD says I’m going to run Pilot Sport Cups, instead of PS2’s
Then hopefully I’ll learn to be more consistent with my times, and be able to work on my flaws… Driving through the winter and beating on the car all winter… I’m a much better driver. We’ll see how well it does for me
DOT-R’s mask flaws. Steeper learning curve.
We’ve been through this… I don’t know If I can heat those pads up with street tires, I tried my hardest last night until I almost barfed in my car…
Street driving doesn’t put constant heat in pads like the track does Dan.
Yes… I was doing the 0-60-5-60… couldn’t really heat them up… they still squeaked like a fatty getting raped. Then I moved on to 80’s
In for May
Minglor, what happened to the white skate?
This noob might be in. I just picked up a 2008 Evo GSR that is waaaay too much fun to drive.
Its a lot of fun, come on people, get out there and learn how to drive your car, you wont be sorry!
If you are saying you want to do it, May 23rd is the day since after June 1st, you’ll need a passport to get over the border
IN! (I’m listed as mikecentola)
got sold off.
Had a mk2 with a VR I was going to do and ended up with an e30
I want to do a couple of these but I kinda want to just go to one without my car and see what it’s like. Make sure I want to spend the money on this type of thing first, is that common practice?
People frequently just come and spectate, yes.
I wish I had a car worth taking to an event like this. Stupid growing up and buying a reliable dd that’s no fun
Come out and ride shotgun with a few people
Lots of people run their DDs… unless it’s a truck.
