I actually learned to drive quite well in the snow despite being from CNY. I have a blast when it snows and I’m home… it’s the other people on the road that make it dangerous for me. People don’t understand the concept of downshifting for steep hills and such.
I had to teach my grandmother to use the tiptronic in her old car and her honda just has the usual automatic so I made sure she knows how to do it because she lives on a steep hill like is shown on the video.
The suburban vid reminds me of a middle aged man with his family who passed me in a subaru like 3 years ago on the 198. Road was totally covered and he was flying. I was in my GF’s car with her on 4 snows. I come around one of the turns and the whole stupid family is staring at their sideways legacy with the bumber laying next to it.
“You mean AWD doesn’t help me turn or brake any better?”
I asked them if they were ok and said “good, slow down” and drove away.
RWD without snows sucks, it is easy enough to get stuck in deep shit when you do have snows. AWD is by far the funnest in the snow. It is so easy to pick up speed while drifting in an AWD car, not nearly as easy to pick up speed in a RWD. Plus AWD affords you a lot more confidence to enter the really deep unplowed parking lots.

I’m proud to be one of those assholes that has 4x4 and uses the left lane when people are doing 20. I don’t drive like and asshole, but I def don’t need to do 20. I love when people try to block me from passing and almost crash themselves or turn their high beams on to try and blind me but just cause them to not see and almost crash. People are so dumb when it comes to driving in the snow…

I’ve suggested this before but motion for minimum speed of 15 MPH under the speed limit in the left lane of highways. If you can’t meet it, that’s fine, GTFO and use another lane. There is no reason why I should be an hour late to work after I left early because people need to go 10MPH in the left lane on the 90 and 33.
I got my AT tires on last night… fucking rock in this shit snow we have.
