My buddy died in his Fiero, he lost control coming out of a turn somehow and hit a tree sideways, split the whole car in two. Both died.

Yea side impacts are no fun in them. Head-on/rear/front corner hits are its strong point. Still one of the few non airbag vehicles to score 5 star on front impact.
