«OFFICIAL» Watercraft / Jet Ski / PWC Thread + Boats

Page 28 has the summary of required equipment. I don’t think there’s any additional requirements you need to worry about at that length.

The booklet has a good overview of the basic “rules of the road”

Taking the safety course required for PWC’s wouldn’t be a bad idea either.

Saturday night was damn near perfect out on Lake Ontario.

I haven’t been out in 2 weeks, hopefully sometime this week I’ll have a chance.

I was just in Alaska and ran across this. No time for me to do it unfortunately:

If we knew that the weather was going to be this perfect this weekend, meaning no wind, we would have taken the boat from Wilson out to your neck of the woods. Would have been perfect conditions for it.

We weren’t really expecting that either. Just some low rollers, hardly any wind.

My boat is so light that we can’t comfortably go outside of the bay when the waves are up, so it was a nice surprise getting outside of the breakwall.

Same. We were about 8 miles out here Saturday night. Grilled food, listened to music, and gamed a little bit. Outstanding night.

Fact of the day: Jet Skis in Canada are required to have bailing buckets on them.

Jesus… I barley have room for a towel for the beach in my ski… I have no idea where people put those…

They’re really liberal on “bailing device”. I’ve passed that test by claiming my tackle box once, and an empty worm container another time. Basically if you can scoop water with it you can count it as a bailing device.

The other often overlooked one is an oil absorbent towel for the bilge. After some argument a US coastie admitted my claim that my t-shirt could be used was valid. Sometimes I swear they’re out there just to be assholes.

half a pig mat in a ziplock baggie stuffed in a subway cup.

Waves over the wall right now, who’s going out?

Yeah, went through that for about 5 minutes a week or so ago trying to watch meteors. Not doing that again.

I am going out this afternoon…Gallagher around 1-2…

The water was really sloshing around last night but it was still fun

Also, running full throttle along the wall while the waves break and spray over you from the other side is a lot of fun. They’re a lot bigger when you’re up close to them than they look from shore!

The water temp is warmer than the air temp today. Falling off will feel like jumping into a hot tub

This makes me want a boat.

Yea it was pretty packed I guess. Middle of July had twice this many boats. It was a maze getting out. People actually were putting there boats closer and closer to the swimming area because they were running out of room.

Despite Ontario not having nearly as much stuff to do, it’s pics like this that make me appreciate it more.

Thanks man! A bit delayed, on my way now…

How was it today? Sun was out and it got warmer than I thought it would. I’m starting to shop for wetsuits now too for the fall.

The weather was perfect…nice breeze, nice waves, nice temp., etc. Had a great time out there. Still have my intermittent fuel cut issue after about an hour or so of riding (just have not gotten around to replacing the fuel selector valve), but I certainly had a nice time out there anyways…plus after an hour or so on my machine, I’m pretty beaten up anyways, ha…
