yes-ET DRAGS, been told there alot better than QTP’s but I haven’t prooved it to myself yet.
Ok i really need to order some wheels and tires and a few other parts so i can get it out asap. I am going to be running it NA for the first few weeks I think to get adjusted to the new suspension some and try to figure why right before i put it away i was down 3mph more then one day.
QTPs’ really compare to ET Drags? Isn’t a QTP still a “street slick”? I bought a set of M&H Racemaster DOT street slicks, thinking they were in the same league as the QTP. They hook pretty amazing from 2nd gear up, but can’t seem to pull any better than a 1.9 FWD, even doing huge fucking burnouts. They really are made more for the street, than the track I think.
The QTP is a pretty serious tire. I cut 1.56 on them before and don’t see it going much lower on the drags but i think they will be more consistent. LOL aren’t you running open an open dif? what did you expect to 60’? This tire IMO is designed more for the track then street by a long shot unless you are simply comparing them to a slick in that case well duh.
My goal is to hit 12.5 and to break my 108mph wall. My seccondary goal is to rim a 1.8 60’
My current trans is open diff. I have my quaife trans, but I am prorastinating! If that helps cut my 60’s down to a 1.7 or so, then I will be happy with them, but thats going to be a pretty huge jump
My new goal is to cut off .2 from my 60’, and .2 in WOT shifting. Then… ??? from spray.
Link me to what tire you are running. I am not familiar with them but I have had QTP’s hook really well for me in the past BUT! i could never get them consistent at all. It was either a 1.6 or a 2.3 every pass hahah. I was very happy with my et streets when I had them a few years ago. They were 26x16 opposed to 28x15 that i run now and i could get them to hook really well. I might run the et street this season but I just cant see myself running slicks on the street at all so i might just run the et drag. Get off your ass and install that trans I would love to see your car running mid low 11’s for sure. What did you decide on the spray?
Yeah, my M&H are a 26 x 15 (almost).

I was also inconsistent. I was pulling 1.9’s or 2.5’s. Depending on if I nuked off the line or not, heh.
IMO the QTP’s are more like this tire opposed tpo the one you are running.

I just hate how loose it feels on the big end with slicks.
their these, there not really a slick

I told mark to get QTPs from the start. 26x9.5 I ahd a set on the gtp and got some 1.6s at norwalk.
cougar, what was the setup that felt scary? I ran the 26x10.5x15 etdrag on some 15x10 prostars. The soft sidewall. I think the PN was 3503c. It was the right size rim, but no tube it felt scary, I didnt like it at all. M6 on a radial is hard, We need some sidewall and a bais ply. You ever run the stiff sidewall ETdrag I think I’m gona try them next. ETdrags subcode s
i get my own section. lol
i dont agree with some that posted in the last 3.
hmm. well i’d like to see some 9s, and while they’re very obtainable, hopefully im able to use the track more than a few, or, one, times.
i’ll have a better indication once im able to rip on my car
either way i dont give a shit. im so fed up with being in a garage, i need a break from it all
werddddd. just got my M/T 255/50/16’s in and im kinda pissed at how heavy they are. I didnt even realize that these tires are 30lbs each.wtf. i guess im too used to bias ply slicks. we will see how the m/t’s go and if bad im going back to slicks.
I’m hoping for a 12.5 this year. may not happen this year though. Breaking 13s is a must
What wheels are you running? Im trying to decide between prostars and bogarts again. Personally i ddidnt like the feel of any bias ply going down the track. Feels too loose and like it sways. May have been the suspension setup but i dont think so. I think I am going with et drags at the end of the day. I have seen others prefer the stiff ones also maybe ill give them a shot.
Same thing but change garage with Iraq. I just want to get out this season. I have work to do on it for sure but priority #1 is being out. GL on the 9’s i think you will get it no problem.

Common mistake is not enough air pressure
I would usually bring them down to about 18ish psi so this could be it. Also how do you feel about tubes? You think they would help my situation. Right now I am thinking of going with the 28x10.5 hoosier or et drag slick in stiff sidewall no tube. Im just going full slick since it is 6-sp and im going to make a few runs at the 9’s at the end of the season i think.
WOW nice 8s this year??
