oil Q?

i know bikes can use just regular auto oil as long as its the correct weight, and (for my bike at least) its not energy conserving. my bike has 29K miles on it. would it benefit me to use a high mileage oil for my bike? i;ve also heard about using heavy duty truck oil, like shell or rotella, but i didnt see any 10w40 available last time i was at work?

rotella from what i have heard…check walmart

rottella for me also. i try to stay away from full syth because of the wet clutch. it will start to slip. (others say its fine) walmart almost always has 10-40

so you been using rotella no problems? i’m just worried about puttin the wrong stuff in and then shooting myself in the foot later on with all the miles on this bike and not knowing its previous maint. routine etc…

I had a Sportster with 80K miles and always used regular auto oil. Rode it every day and no problems. Nobody could ever give me a good reason why I should spend 4X as much for the same weight oil with the HD label.
