I plan on changing the oil in my 04 600rr tomorrow. Obviously full synthetic.
What viscosity should I get…but more importantly what brand oil should I buy… Obviously the motor oil is shared with the tranny so I want the best stuff out there… Fellow bikers, what do you suggest?
lol rotella.
no but seriously i’ve run it in every bike i’ve owned with 30k miles on stock clutch, i have 60+ passes on each bike at the dragstrip with rotella semi-syn 5w-40 from walmart. and i’ve never had an issue with the clutch. Nowwww my gsxr on the other hand, i ran motul full synthetic and that clutch had problems
Haha, I ran rotella in my cummins pickuptruck
mobil 1 5000 10w30. fuck full synthetic.
Jabbu runs rotella too. seriously. He actually did a bunch of research on it prior too.
amsoil 10-40…
I run Amsoil 10w40 as well, Run great and shifts like butter
i would def stay away from full synthetic. theres really no need for it on that bike. what does it tell you to use with the bike stock?
I changed the oil in my bike when I got it and wasn’t sure what was ran in it previously so I ran some regular motor oil, non synthetic. Is this going to cause any problems? Should I change the oil again and run semi synth? I’ve only put about 1000 miles on it since I changed the oil when I got it. Majority of which is highway miles.
It’s a 2004 r6 btw.
You got it back?
A few guys come in and buy the gallons of rotella, we just started to stock it recently.
:bloated:
I run Rotella and have 0 problems. I found it was highly recommended.
we use mobil one at the shop, 15w50 BUT
thats spec made for triumph
there really is no need for full synthetic. I change my oil every 2-3k religiously.
^ yaya just change your oil like you should and you don’t need that synthetic. Also, stay away from anything with friction modifiers or other additives as it is bad for the wet clutch.
are you serious? the second you start running synthetic in your bike, your asking for problems, especially if you switch from regular to fully.
