i always thought this site was kind of helpful for the basics. it will tell you what you need for different motors in different cars. nothing too in depth, but it will get you in the right direction.

Cool! Thanks guys. What is the most popular swap being done with best results typically as well as turbo friendly?

b18’s in civics are most common i would say… b18b’s are probably a little more boost friendly since theyre a little lower compression.

you can turbo any of them but like smort said b18b/a are the ones to go with for boost because they are cheap and really easy to find if you blow it. ask fmfkid how long it takes to put one in and get to the track:hitit:

basically it depends on what you want. if your looking for just a swap and to do a few bolt ons i would go with the gsr (b18c1) the b16 imo just isnt worth it. plus you can boost the gsr and even on 9 or 10 lbs make some good hp.

best stocker motor for boost at a reasonable price is a b18b ls motor @ 10 psi its good for 260whp

if money is no object go k series huge numbers on stock motors no problem.

h series motors are good for big numbers to but the tranny suck,

b series trannys are pretty good and take big numbers for a whole, (unless your name is frank and forget to put big ass bolts in the main supports)

as for the compression thing, Eh i dont see a problem with pushing 10psi on a 10-11:1 motor just have good enuff fuel to not detonate.

bigest bang for buck
ls motor $250 hands down

you looken to do a swapped honda?

B16 - destroked rev it too 12k
FTW

b16s are already destroked!

If you wanna boost it and keep it relatively cheap go with the LS.

Regardless…12k

Hondas are ghey…

eh…just browsing right now,i have about 10,000 to spend on something or two things but want to see whats up first in both aspects.

The b16 bottom end can probably hold up to 12k for a while as long as the top end has been built up to take those revs. FMF used to come off the line with my old LS stroked set-up at 9600rpms or so

turbo b18c1 in a gutted EK hatch…

Bone stock will rev to 12K for a while man. not many make power over 10K though anyway so whocares what it revs too.

Terry from boostfed did over 650whp with a 84mm B16A in his SI. and revs to 10k. who cares about the other 2000RPM when you don’t make power there
