alright, i drove to the west end meet and drove back home. everything was fine. went to watch a movie at a friend’s house and left. i drove off the driveway and drove straight down the street. now this is where it gets weird. EVERYTHING was fine before i got to my friends house, but now my alignment seems to be off? the wheel has to be slightly to the right to make the car go straight.
so wtf? did it just change while being parked or maybe when i went down the driveway? makes NO sense at all. im guessing its mainly an alignment issue, but i’m guessing it would be safe to assume something is VERY loose? not safe to drive? also, when i turn the wheel from lock to lock, at the end of each lock, the car’s rpms go up and down 500rpm. almost seems like its going to stall.
so…ya…does anyone know what’s going on cause this makes no sense to me.
the idle going up/down 500 rpm at the end of the lock is normal, when your at the end of the lock the pressure is higher on the ps system which makes it harder for the engine to turn.
if you have lowered springs, check to see if it popped out of position (aka slipped up the spring seat during the curb hop, etc.) - my friend’s gsr has a wheel “alignment” tilt after oil change, spring didn’t seat back in properly after lowering the car from jack (didn’t have a jack low enough to raise at the crossmember so did one side). One side being higher than the other made it self-steer to one side like an alignment problem.
One way to check for that is to measure distance of your wheel to fender when your car is levelled, if distance is greater on one side than the other, depending on how much it tilts, chances are it’s your spring considering you didn’t hit anything severely .
yeah the rpm’s are normal, dude, i would check to see if everything is still on tightly. good luck man, make sure ur car is safe before u do anything else.
ok i’m going to feel really stupid posting this but the problem was a semi flat tire. i guess when i was driving i didn’t notice it since i turned up the music and when i got out of the car i didn’t see any real height difference.
