I haven’t had to reboot the router in months (2 or 3 times total in over a year of having it)…
I have a crapton of HD channels (not including HBO et al)
My internet is fast, of rock steady.
YES - the media push DVR is glitchy
YES - the Ruoter GUI is cumbersome
YES - well, thats really all I’ve got for cons…
I just went to the website today and it says its not available at my address. I live closer to parkside and hertel. Hopefully they will be connecting us soon.
The rep that came to our door to sign us up mentioned that they won’t offer TV until they find out what kind of demand there will be - not sure what truth there is to that though.
I can’t find the original thread where I mentioned that Verizon was going to be burying my FIOS fiber through my back yard from the pole to my house and people were saying how much of a mess they were going to make so I figured I’d post an update here.
Verizon’s cable dig guy showed up back when my yard was still really soft. One dude with a flat blade shovel. It took him about 30 minutes to bury the cable and a week after it was done you can’t even tell where he buried it. All he did was make a small V with the shovel and jam the cable down about 5". They’re only concerned with getting it deep enough that the mower won’t get it.
I was really happy with how it came out. I did have to bust out my chain saw to cut one root since they aren’t allowed, but that took 2 minutes and now the only wire I have visible in my back yard is the power line.
Sorry I didn’t see this, but it wasn’t me. Must of been another.
Yeah that’s how we do it at Dish too. Just out of curiosity, do they use the same cabling for burial as they do for aerial or is it the same??? Just wondering. I haven’t come across buried fiber yet, at least that I’ve noticed.
