I can’t really say shit about PTSD because I haven’t been there. I’ve talked to several people who’ve been over there, one who definitely had PTSD, and it’s not just a matter of saying “it’s no problem because those terrorists deserved it”. One guy didn’t like being around lots of people because he couldn’t stand having anyone behind him. If he got dragged to a party he’d stand places where he could keep his back to a wall. Your heart goes out to someone like that and I hope he got some help re-integrating into society.
They want you to talk about the pictures and all of the other bullshit like the burial at sea! Have any of you taken a step back and really looked at how fucked up this entire operation has been and all of the different stories we have been told? You are looking at the wrong things.
If PTSD was an issue for you, you would not make it to SEAL status.
Have you ever watched someone die? People don’t come home after serving with PTSD because it was a jolly ol’ time. The novelty of killing someone who “deserved” it would eventually wear off and you’d have nothing but awful visuals.
Maybe some of the NYSpeed veterans can speak to this better than I can. I just don’t think it’s possible to walk away from that feeling 100% unless there was already something wrong with you.
Like what? No going to guess what you’re not believing now.
If you’re the type of person who might be susceptible to PTSD you’re not going to be selected for Seal Team 6 in the first place.
The story is only a few days old and we have been told so many versions and tell me they didn’t make the picture decision before. This administration seems to have two sides or they just are 100% disorganized/unorganized. If no one else has been paying attention I will start making a list if I get time.
OMG THERE WAS A FIRE FIGHT AND HE HAD GUNZ AND SECURITY…
Ohhh wait, he was unarmed and surrounded by family now… sry we fucked up…
Honestly one way or the other I don’t care about pictures, and all the other bullshit, but WHY would they kill someone was sooooooooooooo much fucking intel who was unarmed… because he wasnt going willingly? so fucking subdue his ass, knock him out, bag his head and take him to gitmo and start getting some information… don’t fucking splatter his brain matter on the walls first, dead bodies can’t give up al quaeda secrets…
Guys, someone who gets PTSD can’t predict whether they will get it or not. I guess it’s possible that you have to be pretty hardcore to be selected, but still…these guys kill for a living.
Nobody has all the answers because there were only a handful of people involved.
This is war, things can’t always be calculated to a tee. You can plan all you want, but sometimes you need to react fast and things just happen.
We are all human. Even Barack Obama. They did what they had to do to accomplish a 10 year old mission and get out alive. The president made quick decisions on how to handle things, that he probably COULD have done better if given more time, but it’s not that important.
The guy was scum. The people he was living with were scum. Scumbags get what they deserve. The things he did to people all over the world are un-imaginable to most people.

Yeah, I think this is true. Although, I would tend to think that most SEALs have a much easier time dealing with this than frontline Army guys.
edit: Another point is that America needs to look after Americans first and foremost. Pakistan, the muslim community, etc… all come second.
These are guys who are trained so that their heart rate doesn’t even increase in situations like this. They actually shoot between heart beats to improve accuracy.
I knew a guy who was stuffed into a torpedo tube of a submarine with kitchen garbage and shot out while at sea with no oxygen tank. Cold water too. He then had to swim to shore.
These Seals are not getting PTSD.
all that is man… /thread.
It definitely comes down to the level of training and, foremost, experience. If they were susceptible to PTSD, they would have suffered from it LONG before they ever made it to a SEAL team.
Dude. Crazy.
Seals even get water boarded (tortured) as part of their training. They let the water get almost all the way to their lungs too, none of this “they go easier on them because it’s training and not a real situation” BS.
So it’s really like in the Bourne movies? lol
Yeah my grandpa was in Korea, and said that in the Army they’d mustard gas guys in a room without masks so you get used to it. No thanks.
LOL, tear gas. If it was mustard gas there wouldn’t be a very high succes rate with “getting used to it.”
Mustard gas? LMAO.
Isn’t mustard gas what the nazi used? lol
Sorry tear gas…
