Paint j00b

Nope, can’t say I’ve seen one before.

Def. not any around here.

Especially not mine…

Oh yeah, don’t do it. Pull your wing and get a real paint job. That would be nice. My $.02.

fine, ill rephrase, its WAAAAY easier to use a spray gun because it allows you to work faster

the faster you can lay down a line of paint, the faster you can be making your next pass above or below that pass

his ensures that your laying down wet paint on top of wet paint, as opposed to wet paint on top of already flashing paint

wet on wet allows you to avoid “tiger stripe” paint jobs

how for typical base / clear jobs, it doesnt matter so much, most bases can witstand being sprayed slightly dry, and the clear covers it up.

spaying a single stage flat color on the other hand has to be done right the first time, no room for error, unless its a non metalic color thats supposed to have a gloss, then (depending on the paint type) you would be able to buf out any errors in your paint job

cliffs: rattle cans lay down small amounts of paint at a time, yet moving quickly is the key to good paintjobs. if your going to spray can and entire car you better be damn good @ it

better ?

i have $ dont worry  i like flat black…i also ahve mad paint hookups…did i not just paint my integra a custom metallic red with pearlescent highlights a few months ago???

u will get shitty radio reception if u paint it flat black

i dont have a radio!

word…

I read that putting the rattlecans in warm/hot water helps the paint atomize better when spraying it.

:gay:

And yes there are plenty of other pieces of shit rolling around with flat black, its the new yellow.

just pull the damn wing, and leave the paint alone until you’re ready for a good spray. flat black looks awesome on stealth fighters and folding shovels. not on “jdm s00percarz”.

not feeling it at all. please don’t.

why not just spray it a sick looking color, personally my z has a 2 yr old paintjob from americar auto painting and i love having nice paint with no scratches, even tho my car is slow as balls.

flat black is the color of speed yo, go for it, rattlecan paintjobs look fine, especially flat black, just mask it off well

You know, back in the day this was common. Of course it was made out of zinc oxide, and you really had to be careful about breathing it in.

Of course, I don’t really care for flat black cars. To me, the car is suppose to shine. If it doesn’t, you’re doing something wrong.

and why would it be going on his car?

I think flat black should be a dealer option. Any little scratch could easily fixed by going to Home Depot!!

I painted my five colored camaro flat black last summer. Is your paint really that bad, that you want to spray over it? 300ZX are a little more valuable then a six cylinder camaro with 150K miles!!

My buddy painted his rx7(RIP) flat black a couple years ago. My only tip is to find out the correct way to NOT get dark spots where it looks like too much paint was applied —> it is harder than expected.

The 1 plus with a flat black car is that you don’t have to wash it often. … … if at all.

Oh yeah, use the spray gun attachment or your finger will go numb. I think he used 13-15 can??? don’t quote me.

good luck!
