So I bought the shadow back again, prolly gunna paint it flat black. How should I Go about it, think I should strip it then paint it? Or just toss it on top of the paint thats left on there?

i have a good article on SCC on how to do it…they did it to a brand new STi
the easiest way if the body is clean and smooth
scuff it with a scotch brite pad
blow it off
wipe it with mineral spirits
spray away
soak the cans in a hot bucket of water…the paint comes out better…i have the article at work…ill figure how to get i tto u

i had a primer black car for 2 years, it might of looked goofy, but it was easy to touch up, which was good on a nitrous street car that had the hood off all the time. I used a regular spray gun, i think rattle cans might turn out getto lookin.
Mine cost 6 bucks total. Then again I had a spray gun and compressor.
The main trick is to concentrate on each panel, because its flat, it will all dry the same. And for the love of god, dont “dot” it, go in lines and make it an even shine when wet, itll then dry smoothly.
Free advice
if you want a reasonably priced primer … use SPI primer
if you want a cheap gallon of flat black … use john deere blitz black tractor paint
