-=Paint JObzzz=-

Did mine myself. Cost about $450 (base-clear) Take your time and make sure your body work and prep is done right because anything you put on over top of it is going to show. I had to wet sand and buff after because of the shitty booth we have at the shop (a bit of dirt).

you can just go to any paint store get a couple gallons of paint and clear coat and some 400 grit sandpaper, sind er down and spray on the base then clear and ur done, tapeing to ofcource… takes a couple hours to a day at most and it comes out pro finnish like showcar finnish.

your 240 looks very nice

Painting a car own your own isn’t as easy as it sounds. My boy tried painting his fender + his hood and they were a bit out of tone wen he put them on.

How many coats are good?

Sneak peak…I still have to wetsand and clearcoat.

Yea thats pearl in my paint…Tremclad paint b!tches.

whoaa… thats nice enzo! i was wondering wut kind of tremclad u got?

like that big jug? and also did u roll that?

editt** i can see they spray endings… soo i guess u sprayed it.

Spray FTW…8gallon 2.5hp i think compressor…it was said it couldnt be done but it worked flawlessly…i just had to keep the compressor cool with a fan and give it a break every now and then.
This is from tonight…finishing wetsanding tommorow(knotice the sumwhat dull red) then clearcoat. I used the tremclad in the jugs…big, med small jugs there all the same. I used two med size jugs with a bit left over…buy the big one if your painting one colour its MOOORE than enough.

My only problem...when i wetsand the clear i cant get that shine back 100%....I tested a bunch of stuff out before i touched the car. i used the turtle rubbing compound followed by polish/scratch remover...im sanding it down to about 1500 before i buff it too.. :? Any ideas how to really get the shine back???

Cars going to look seeen monday  ****I used a total of 15g of red pearl that i added into the black and red to distract the eye from flaws etc etc…if u use pearle u gota spray realllly consistantly otherwise you’ll have more pearle in one spot than another. Tremclad only has basic red…basic black…nothing fancy i had to give it a little bling factor for the wifey and future prosti-tots.

eehh… I rolled my shit on and outside and it looks just as good. But to keep the shine you gotta let the paint bake on the car for a few days (if not longer, been almost amonth for me) before you do the final sand and buffing also you should try using 2000 grit as the final colour sand.

And waxing is a bitch too… if you want to get really shiny you gotta wax for days lol. I tried different methods on some spare parts I had lying around.

I would put up pics of my car but I got no camera… I used black, I haven’t buffed the whole car yet but it still looks really good. Just waiting for my summer classes to finish.

Whoever doubts this method… seeing is believing (i am not connected to tremclad in anyway lol)

Just read the rest of your post… I wanna know what you did for the pearl and what clear coat you used (tremclad?) B/c that was the only thing I had against this method I couldn’t use a pearl. Which is what I was going to initially do with reg. auto paint b4 I heard of the $50 paint job.

Im using tremclad clear in the can…it only comes in med size jugs. DONT thinn it out…its a horrible reaction if u try to thin it out. Go extremily light with the clear as it runs very very easily…practice on something with the clear to get a feel for how easily it runs.
