They look uncomfortable. How much weight are you saving?
that’s the issue i’m having with these. i may have to resort to these to gain head clearance, so im “trying” the have them grow on me. although the padding looks like it would help, i guess i need to sit in some first.
they are like 11#'s bare, 17 equipped, and you’ll typically save ~20lbs per seat on these.
These seats aren’t really uncomfortable at all so long as you position them correctly and you get the right size. I wouldn’t want to drive cross country in the things, but that’s more so because they are an nonadjustable race seat.

Is clearance for a helmet/cage the purpose? I can’t imagine 40 pounds makes a difference in a 10 second f-bod.
there a great seat to use. the high back makes it so you can’t hit your head on the hoop. I dont drive around on the street with a helmet so its safer. And they harness fit them great, stock camaro seats don’t work with them very good and are not safe to use. I had some other light seats and these work the best for what I wanted, I’ve had them in all year and put a few 1000 street miles on them. no problems they are great.
not to steal the thread, but i was more worried about the bars that will be along side my head; “the halo,” even though it won’t technically be a halo. my current seats are ~1" higher than stock, and i need something lower than stock. right now, if i lean my head to the left, i hit my head where the bar will be. so to answer fry’s question, clearance IS what i’m looking for
the look good in the car, nice work.
The seats are more comfortable than my Evo, STi, SRT4, or NRG seats

do you sit lower than with your oem seats? i think i may be able to get lower mounting them differently, but comparing pictures, yours doesn’t look much lower than my current seats:

Try them some time. There has not been one person that has sat in them in didn’t like them. But everyone at 1st goes “wow alum seats???wtf? they don’t look comfortable?”
I can’t sit for 30s mins I get stiff, and have to crack my back. Movies I do it a few times, eating out at most places, even getting a hircut.
Yea when i rode in the car this summer out to Syracuse i was very surprised with how comfy the seats were. I am 6’1" and 250, was still easy enough to get in/out and ride in.
