You must be a real know it all. You can argue all you want. I got my inspection and emission stickers so what the fuck do I care what you think.
i only know dsms and i have an o2 sim, and clearing the codes with a pocketlogger will not show up on an emissions obd2 test
kurt is your car ODBII?
yup, first year obd2 was implimented but not standard, build date on my car is 94
and i should turn you in for that!
your car may be obd2 but it does not get a obd2 test as its a 95 bottom line is as long as your readyness monters are goods and no chekc engin light you’ll pass
i never had a problem anyways i live in the sticks (and it will be exempt from now on anyway) my point was obd2 and it clears the codes with a pocket logger.
ohh ya i know that but really depends on the car how long it takes for the readyness montors ( whitch get reset if you clear the codes regardless of make )to set i know for chevy theirs all kinds of stuff but on a dsm it might just take couple miles
from what i understand '94 obd2 was an odd year and didn’t have some of that stuff
well… clearing codes only works for certain cars… but i said, that turning off your downstream o2’s works for pretty much 99% of the cars
turning it off > buying a new one for 130 bux
Just go n se mike up at emage performance in washington, ask 2fnfast or just call them up and he,ll make it pass
You should probably PM something like that. Wouldn’t want them to go out of business for something stupid like that.
devin please delete this or a mod we WILL NOT PASS ANYTHING UNLESS IT IS SAFE AND LEGAL
any questions u can pm me!
i’m not arguing that
just don’t tell me that it works for my car…
kurt… i just have a feeling that your 94 obdii (sorta) car has different testing parameters than my 02 odbii car… i’m sure it works for you and that’s just fantastic. you will not remove a cat or run a low cell count high flow cat on a newer vw without throwing the check engine light for the downstream o2. period.
once again

during the obdii test, the car(my car) will read readiness codes… if you ‘clear the codes’ you must complete a drive cycle to get back to the passing readiness state. otherwise your car will fail, it clearly indicates this on the screen.

motronic 7 in newer vw’s and audi’s check against downstream O2 signals to make sure a sim is not in place. you cannot use a sim on the vw’s rear narrowband o2 sensor.
that was kinda my point that they were different but i was only using it as an example that apparently the obd “standard” wasn’t standard around that time
do they do a visual inspection to see if you have a cat? or can you get away with out running one?
that’s a federal law you can get major fines for not having
agreed.
