I bought a Q only bc it was cheap and I wanted to try out a PDA phone. 2 drawbacks with it 1) battery life, can be fixed with the bigger battery, Normal use its okay, but sitting back int he data center all day where theres no signal i just have to turn it off bc it dies trying to look for a signal. 2) no Stylus.
Other then that, It works pretty well. My friend had a older 650 and it was just bulky. But I liked it when I messed with it.
Takes some time getting used to the QWERTY keypad on it, esp if you have fat fingers. I liked how thin the Q was, that was the selling point for me. That and the whole 100 dollar deal. Soon as I get a SD card im gonna start playing around with emulators and such. When we messed around with the net on it it was sorta slow, but I expected it. I ended up cancelling the data plan bc I will never use it anyways.
its funny that i hear a lot of people for the treo, but if you look into them, the querks come out fast.
I still like the samsung, just need to use it. My one buddy got the verizon one thats slids laterally, i think its basicly the twin to the Cingular 8125. I dug how you get a lot of space to use the keys on it. Thats the only thing I think i wont like about hte treo, that the keys will be too jumbled to use.
my g/f has a treo 650 and we both love that i personally have an audiovox xv6600 and my mom has a treo 700 wich is REALLY NICE! the audiovox had word and excel on it wich is a plus but it does freeze often!
my 700p works perfectly. i dont think its shut down on my once since i got it and i use the shit out of it daily. they took a shot at the windows software but it pretty much sucked. i would still prefer just having a regular old phone, but this beats the hell out of carrying a laptop around everywhere and trying to find hot spots.
…and most importantly its way more pittspeed friendly then the older treo’s and the Q seem to be.
