Q or Blackberry

Or anything else from verizon and why?

I really like the slimness of the Q, but the new blackberry is cool too?

pros and cons of both?

 my 7130

Pros - email & txt is flawless

Cons - no camera

I was looking at the Q yesterday. It seems like a very cool phone. I’m not sure how it stacks up feature-wise with a Blackberry or Treo, but from what I saw, it had everything that I would need and its not quite as bulky as the others.

Q is set at a great price as well. if i could hook it up with wi-fi ide buy it in a heartbeat

The Q is sort of cheap feeling IMO, as opposed to the rest of the motorola line which feels more solid, this one is cheap plastic.

What are you going to be using the phone for primarily?

Well, I’ll make it easier.

List from most important to least important :

Phone, E-mail, texting, Entertainment (Pictures/movies/music) , Calendar/organizer, Web surfing, Expandability.

what makes you want a PDA phone?

edit: keep in mind PDA phones are primarily PDA’s first, phones second

edit edit: also keep in mind advertised pricing INCLUDEDS you taking the unlimited data package @ $44.99

Yeah i just bought the Q primaraly on size

I know about the unliminted data package

I wanted a pda, for mainly email, I get a ton of emails a day

Phone, E-mail, texting, Entertainment (Pictures/movies/music) , Calendar/organizer

this is the exact order of why I wanted the phone

Its funny you say that. The guy at Verizon I was talking to yesterday said the Q was a “phone first” phone/PDA.

The XV6700 is a PDA first and a phone second. The Treo (according to “them”) is a phone first and a PDA second. This is even more true (if there is such a thing) with the Q…

^^^ it does seem that way, it seems to be a phone that was modified enough to run windows mobile.

Fuck the Q, no wifi.

Personally, I think every Phone Verizon has to offer right now is shit. The PDA/Phones are pretty nice, but get something that is actually a PDA. Even Vzw calls the Q a “Smartphone”.

I wish I had stayed T-mobile, woulda gotten that sidekick in a heartbeat.

im sure that all the features of the sidekick use some kind of data that costs money. even at that, i dont think it has a browser or even half the amount of apps that the Q aka “smartphone” has. Q pwns sidekick

LOL @ you thinking the sidekick is a good phone

That thing is the biggest piece of shit ever

Although the one feature I truely liked is the always online thing.

However, who cares if you don’t have wifi? I have never used my wifi once… I guess if you’re in a EVDO network it’s different…

and if u have an extra 45 dollars a month for unlmited data…lol, being at UB a lot having wi-fi everywhere, i would love it if the Q had wif-fi, cause then i wouldnt have to lug around a fucking 10 lb laptop everywhere i go

rubi is on the right track. i would put the treo as a PDA first. the Q seems to operate “more so” as a phone than a PDA, but in generalities, PDA phones are a lot alike.

and :word: to howie’s comment on the sidekick, coverage aside.

edit: and if you are going to USE the features, then by all means, get a PDA phone. i see too many people that want it just for the look of it and to “look important”. those are the people that also arnt aware of the data feature.

When I go to the website, the cheapest plan available on the Q is $79. Where do I find this $44.99 plan?

the q sucks

no evdo in blo = suck

i used wifi at a library in the adirondacks once

Pretty sure the $44.99 is in addition to the $79.

incorrect.

the $44.99 data feature i am talking about is an add on to an existing plan. if you switch to the advertised (what you are seeing online) core choice bundle plan you recieve the $40 voice plan and the $45 data plan at a $5 discount.

if you are on a family share, you cant get that bundle discount.
