PDF Help......

How do I edit a .pdf form? :noob:

I checked the security settings and it states that “filling of form fields:allowed”. Tried saving the file, right clicking on the form fields,- nothing. The basic pointer icon doesn’t change when moved over the form fields, which makes me think it isn’t interactive, but this form needs to be submitted electronically… wtf.

The document rights don’t seem to allow me to enable the typewriter toolbar. There’s probably a blatantly easy solution to this like a edit mode or something but I just can’t fggur it out… God, I’m a noob - somebody help me.

Try upgrading your version of adobe reader. That PDF might not be compatible with an older version.

Josh, thanks for the idea…

I updated to v.8.12 and restarted my system - same result. Very frustrating… I may just print this thing out, hand fill it out, scan it, and convert it to .pdf :bloated:

Humm… You might need the full version of Acrobat then.

that’s what I’m thinking too…

BINGO!

Reader is just that, allows to you read/view PDFs. To be able to edit them in anyway requires Acrobat Pro.

Try FoxIt reader. Its free, only 2 megs versus adobe which is 20+ megs, and it can edit forms.

I can create documents in Acrobat that can be edited on a computer with just the reader. It depends on how the forms are setup.

it might be an image pdf… not ocr’ed

use ocr
