I’m interested in this dual core technology.
Question is, will WinXP support it?
I’m sure it will utilize it a little… but will Windows be doing most the sorting of commands to the processor? Kinda like how it does the dual processor thing?

Intel’s dual-core is a hack IIRC. If you want dual-core go with AMD (or even if you don’t, go with AMD :P).
Yes, Windows fully supports dual core, the same way it supports dual processor systems. However, most of your applications/games are single threaded so they will only be able to use one processor. If the Pentium D is x86_64 compatable than you will want Windows XP x64 edition (or whatever they call it).
yeah, do not go intel, AMD > all
and if going that rout, get xp64, im using it now, and its noticably(sp) faster than xp.
well - this isn’t for me, this is for the company.
Dual core chips are like, not that much more expensive than I thought.
I know AMDs is better, but I’m doing what I can here
im not to familiar with intel, so i cant help ya there, i gave up on intel when i had the celeron D
