I wish I took pictures b/c I would prove it. My TII ran extremely rich due to the idiot before me throwing a full exhaust and intake on it, increasing the primary injectors to I believe it was 860cc and the secondaries to 720 IIRC and never tuning it properly. So it would easily shoot 3’-4’ solid flames up until I got it tuned. Anyone who ever saw that car I’m sure could attest to the flames it threw. Mix that with sitting at a light bouncing off the rev limiter for probably a good minute/minute and a half, it got the bumper pretty hot.
It didnt actually melt the bumper itself, just melted the paint pretty good.
