i have a canon s3 12x optical, very nice camera steve.
fuck sony and that lame ass memory stick shit.
If you’re fixed on $100-$200 then throw the SLR option right out the window and just get a Canon SD point and shoot. If you want manual controls, start saving up money and buy an SLR with a good lens.
Post some better ones then, asshole.
What I think he tried to say is that DSLR quality is much better than 90% of the P&S family. Look on ebay for a used DSLR…not a bad way to get into this hobby.
These were done with a little Canon SD1000…
nikon coolpix
Well, he’s wrong…and an asshole.
ok, cool thanks. I’ll shop around a little bit
maybe an slr is the way to go
wow  great quality
wonder how it handles low light and such
I did dickhead… the d40 much better than the crap you are posting… Look at Any SLR picture…
No they are fucking garbage… hell the kid in the picture isn’t even in focus… Very little contrast… Junk
Nikon D60 - An SLR, very entry level
Pay attention to the focal depth, and the contrast… slightly desaturated greeens kind of make it unfair… I’ll get the original one sec
kid shots are indeed not very good, his hat’s more in focus than his face, its flat contrast wise but GROSSLY overexposed - which your cheap POS, er, P&S did to bring up the face - but at the expense of blowing out the rest… but when your lens is that small and the sensor element is too, not much it can do. Even a DSLR would have struggled there light wise and you’d really need a bounce-card to fill in the under-hat shadow.
and yeah, uh, you need to calibrate your monitor or learn about white balance cuz those sailboat pics are ALL over the map color wise
(just a little constructive crit)
It doesn’t, so I got an S5, the SD1000 is my wifes. the larger the lens, the better the low light.
It’s underexposed.
This is from my S5, full auto, no processing, no nothing, just resized.
Cool pic!
