Hey, We moved to Alberta about a month ago. since living here my radar detector has gone off twice at different times through a traffic light (1 in nisku and one in leduc) I have a passport 8500 and it said laser both times witch makes me think that I just got 2 tickets??? is this the case??
everywhere in Calgary, but they will only shoot one way even tho the signs are posted at all four corners. i think they’re a good idea, wouldnt want someone hitting me when i have the green, kinda deters people from running the light i guess.
I wasn’t running a red light, I had the green, I might have been over the speed limit though, so I tought it might give me a photo ticket for speeding? I agree its a good thing for snaggin red lighters.
plus u’ll kno if you got it, the whole freakin intersection flashes, well at night at least
They use radar to tell you how fast you are moving when you run a red light.
Currently in alberta it is illegal to have an Un-manned photo radar.

Lots of lights/intersections have sensors that’ll set off your detector.
They’ve also got lots more boxes than cameras … so even if you know an intersection has a box for the red light camera, that doesn’t mean there’s actually a camera in it.
