Photo radar -two vehicles in the picture

Question regarding photo radar, I received a ticket for going 100km/h in an 80 zone (E.B. Whitemud) today, dated Jan 3, 2007.

In the picture there is my car (middle lane whitemud on Rainbow valley bridge) and right beside my car in the right lane is another car/SUV. Like literally right beside my car.

Could this be grounds to fight the ticket? That the other car was speeding, and not me?

I really don’t think it was me, as I never speed on whitemud, especially rainbow valley bridge as there are always photo radar vans there. The ticket is $136.00, not really worth my time to miss work and go to court. I was thinking of pleading not guilty and including a letter that states I was not speeding, and there is another car in the photo.

Again, the kicker for me is that I don’t want to take time off of work for a $136 ticket, those 2-3 hours are worth more than $136, but at the same time I don’t want to pay for something I don’t think I am guilty of.

Thoughts?

u can just go down to the law courts any day mon-fri and ask to speak to someone regarding tickets. i cant remember what hes called but yah. you can tell him that and show him the pic. and he can probably just fix it there.

my gf always goes down there when she/I get a ticket, and she usually get it lowered.

id give it a try. i would be pissed to get a ticket for something i didnt do.

it’s always worth a try, no point in raising your insurance for something you might not have done.

Haha, Photo Radar tickets dont raise your insurance or give you demerits, are you 16 years old or something? lol.

if i remember correct, when that photo is taken, the person sitting in the van documents the description of motor vihicle. so when i got fashed in the similar situation, person in the vad documented that speeder was the car not the truck etc. Buuuut you have the grounds based upon the fact that its a 3 lane. Sweet talk can sure do some magic tricks, good luck!

wo’h, must have been really tired when i read that, my bad.

A friend of mine didn’t have to pay his ticket. Same situation as you.

How are they to know which car was speeding, even if the van dude marks it down he could eb wrong too.
