Physical Therapy- Where to go?

i was just at Excelsior this week… I’m doin sports PT right down the street on sheridan just cuz its close. and even the specialist didn’t recommend excelsior’s own pt lol

Post op the surgeon said “just go down the hall here and set your appointments up with our therapy center”.

After the infection and 3 months of dramatic healing he said “where are you going to go for therapy”. LMAO

I’m struggling to find a lawyer to take the case since Excelsior is so big and popular. I have a bone frag that I need a 2nd surgery for now but I’ll be damned if they think they are touching me. I need the lawyer first to see who I should use to get op #2.

I go to a place in EA. “The Source for health and well being” My guy is a Physical therapist and Chiropractor. They use all sorts of cool machines and techniques for rebuilding and healing.

Ugh… so cancelling my PT appointment with Excelsior today

Thanks guys

I went to excelsior the first time i broke my thumb, took bout 2+ hours for some dummy right out of dummy school to tell me it was broken, NO SHIT-couldnt tell by the odd shape! -oh, and whats that?! I get an aluminum splint and a roll of tape to make it better, fabulous!
That place sucks for just about everything. I Broke my thumb again like 2 years later in a slightly different spot, i threw $200 in the toilet, kicked myself in the nuts and taped it my self, i figured atleast i saved some time.

i am seeing a hand specialist with excelsior right now (actually i have an appointment today) who is great.

i was in their PT dept. to get my splint and it was quite rediculous. there were two physical therapists “helping” about 40-50 people doing PT exercises. most of the people i observed were performing their exercises wrong but nobody said anything.

I’m debating on dropping the name of my surgeon to be sure people don’t use him. I have documented my entire ordeal so they wouldn’t be slanderous comments I’d be posting.

I would not recommend Excelsior for anything, period. The surgery center has all these rave reviews…they forgot I had people in the waiting room and left me back there for 1-2 hours PRE op with an IV and didn’t bring them back till asked if my surgery was going well. I could go on and on.

Maybe someone here knows…is it LEGAL to handle an open wound with no gloves? Because 2 surgeons at Excelsior and 2 people in therapy did this to my wound. I can’t get a straight answer from anyone. It seems it’s legal but questionable treatment. Hrmmm…time to call more lawyers today while I have a renewed fire under my ass. Glad this thread got posted and renewed my vigor.

It’s debatable whether that bone chunk was left behind or formed by calcification thanks to the healing process, which was extended thanks to their therapy center. Either way I need a 2nd surgery to remove that…it don’t feel too nice when pushed into the elbow. First a lawyer, then a 2nd surgery. WEEE

Oh and any up & coming surgeons on here…don’t cut across a joint or against skin tension lines. I’m willing to bet that’s why this thing didn’t heal in the first 3 weeks to begin with. Doc cut me in a manner that I believe led to my internal stitches blowing open within 1 week of the surgery. I went to the hospital but externally it looked good and plus once a wound is healing they can’t do much for it but let nature take its course. :frowning:

F EXCELSIOR! I am so tempted to put my log online…they botched near every aspect. Anyone know a lawyer not in bed with Excelsior and not afraid to take on a 900lb gorilla?

Hahahahaha glad I could help… I think?? I know you just helped me so thanks

Let’s see what the Lawyer referral service can do for me.
I may need a lawyer out of Rochester or something to eliminate this conflict of interest I keep running into. I realize malpractice is the harder of cases to prove and all but I can’t believe there is no case here. Of all the lawyers I had called 3-4 had conflict and 1 just declined. I can’t get complacent here or throw in the towel…they took too much from me to let it slide.

Where did you decide to go?

holy balls trader im glad I’m currently being handled by excelsior for my knee lol

are you saying they are going to try to kill me :frowning:

my knee has been a mess for 5 years so maybe that’s their plan

Southtowns physical therapy group… had a friend that is getting me the right setup there…

I’m saying results may vary. I could very well be the exception to the norm. The bottom line is they were not receptive, nor adaptive in their handling of a case that wasn’t going smooth. That’s malpractice at worst and medical neglect at best. Their therapy center had me rub cocoa butter in my “scar” depicted below. I knew no better…THEY are the pros right? That is a scab not a scar. I’d never had surgery so I took their word for it being massage ready after some debate on my part. I voiced my discomfort in them leaving the steri-tape off that wound and the therapist said “I’m not giving you any tape to take home, if it opens up a little it’s normal.”

Scar or Scab? You tell me! I’m not a medical professional and they were paid to be my professional advisors. Results indicate it was not a scar as the infection that ensued was nasty as fcuk.

The told me to take the other strips off at home…I didn’t thank god. Upon trying their stretches my arm split open where the tape was removed.
This was after the cocoa butter was applied and the scab softened up. The next day I called and they said they had no appointments…I said ok. I DROVE in and made them look at me. I have also had to use terms like “active bleeding” to get them to write me in as they were “triple booked” and couldn’t see me sooner than my appointment 1 week out. F THAT.

Again I could go on and on but I’m holding back some…I DO have a case against them, just need to find a lawyer not in bed with them. My surgeon and the care I got there was absolute buffoonery!

Anyone feel free to PM if you want more info…I will reserve further public comment I think.

i could not cleary see the photos, as i was near vomiting, yes weak stomach plus the desicration(sp) of said Tattoo’s!

Sorry. I felt challenged and wanted to put some solid proof of the damage and asshattery I had encountered. Lucky for you I have no pics from the worst point when the infection blew that bitch open to the muscle. That was a delight, in the office. Doc pulls the strips off and I look inside my arm. Woohoo. LOL These pics are mild…pull up the other one I posted but didn’t embed to spare the squeemish. I was tweaking when I finally managed to work the gauze off and saw that hard red jelly blob looking thing jutting out from my incision.

I have no clue why I was cut across a joint/skin tension line. No idea why they never flushed the wound despite me telling them on 2 occasions there was an infectant in there (cocoa butter). Again…I could go ON and ON.

As for the tattoo damage, prior to and even right after surgery I was all worried about the tattoo. Man did my mindset shift when I realized I may never gain use of my arm again. I was in a sling locked in at 90 degrees for 3 months. I watched ALL my muscle evaporate on my right side and most of the left side even. I couldn’t shower myself for 3 months. I lost dignity and sense of independence. It was a rough ride…I am NOT one to advocate lawsuits at all. But I really suffered at the hand of Excelsior. I lost 5 months of my life, my job due to being a workers comp liability during economic weakness and on top of that I lost my fairly long term relationship.

I’m not posting all this to whine…I have my arm again. It’s lost some range of motion and is deformed some from scar tissue but it works and for that I’m thankfull. I cannot get Excelsior to sign off on my VESID papers to get Comp paid re-schooling. Any elbow bone that was removed was replaced with my massive amount of scar tissue. The surgery was NOT a success and I cannot do 8 hours of computer work which was my prior job duty. I earned the right to be re-trained yet they are jerking me around and not signing off on my need to be re-trained. I have no idea what I’ll do when my un-employment runs out. SIGH

I’ll fight for what’s right on my end, I’m just posting all this to hopefully prevent someone else from dealing with their poor care. Will you end up with complications and bad care like I had…maybe, maybe not. Is it worth taking that chance? IMO nope!

Here is a proper application of steri-tape. Note how it’s segmented like railroad tracks and allows drainage as well as air hitting the wound.

Here is the way Excelsior put my tape on (with all of the about 5 applications). They made it a vault of puss and goop. Great way to seal IN the infection. Is this a crime or illegal…I dunno. It’s not the best method of application, I can tell you that from first hand experience and results. I would call that negligent, but I need a lawyer and medical professional to agree on this to win a lawsuit.

I give up on local Buffalo lawyers. All have conflict of interest. Anybody have or know of a good medical malpractice lawyer in Rochester?

Thanks

Bump.

Looking for medical neglect/malpractice lawyer in Rochester and a local (Buffalo) orthopedic surgeon that’s competent.

Dr Joseph Buran, 716-639-8358, 1000 youngs rd, amherst

Had 2 surgeries by him, gotta have a 3rd. UNBELIEVEABLE Surgeon; a few others on here will vouch for him as well.
