jet for injecting gas to spool the turbo?

see it poking out just to the left of the inlet ?

its not oil / water system related, as those pieces are totaly removed, so its definantly tapped into the ehaust housing

You wouldnt measure the EGT of the actual hotside, I agree with newman probably for propane/nitrous.

its a pt76 compressor and a pt88 exhaust side on a midframe center section, with supposedly 4 runs on it

wants $1000 for it …

im wondering what the HP rating on it would be …

yea, i read in forced induction tuning that older F1 cars when they were allowed to be FI would inject gas into the exhaust housing to spool the turbo, so they would be able to exit corners faster and what not

anti-lag. clutch in, no spark advance…fireballs:headbang:

also, considering its a 88 exhaust on a 76 intake, im going to have to assume that it was used for higher boost then a normal pt76 can acheive on an ls1

was on, and would be going on if we were to buy it

and rear mounts use UNDER sized turbos

sts kit on an ls1 = approx pt67
front mount on an ls1 - nothing smaller then pt76

the last guy that tried to rear mount a full pt88 on a stock ls1 managed a full SINGLE pound of boost @ 100mph (wot)

one thing i suggest is not to go too big…

yes, on ls1s you can make ALOT of power with a slightly larger turbo. ie… say at 15psi on m 76gts i end up with 800rwhp, i could be close to 900rwhp with a t88, and then higher if i went with a T6 flange. the numbers look good…BUT,…the performance is NOT as good. for whatever reason, these huge power turbo ls1 cars dont perform as well as the more “appropriate” sized combo.

now obviously, the guys up in the 7, 8 , and 9 second clubs consist of mainly track cars. and most of the 10s and ups are street cars. i pointed out some of the instanses im talking about in bold

i just did this real quick. obviously its not the case with all situations. just showing that more power and a sexy curve doesnt necessarily mean a car is faster and quicker than one of lesser power… if you want a dyno queen…def go with a t88, gt47-88, twin 67s, etc etc. the twin setups make aLOT of power… not all of them perform.

we’ll be going pt76 on teh stock block, and then later on if / when the new engine gets built we will see whats the best turbo for the setup

Sure you do, its called TIT Turbine Inlet Temprature, how else can you tell if your gonna melt your wheel. Every aircraft that comes with a turbo has one, many cars making big HP spooling with a rich setting or a sutter box also used them to detect excessive afterfiring.
