All of these flocked pieces were basically totally brown and pretty well soaked in coffee or soda. Not now.

And then last night I pulled the covers off the wiper/batt box and discoverd a slightly dirty cabin filter, and a couple leaves and some dirt.

Luckily I didnt notice any rust in there. I may pull the fenders off to be sure I got everythign out. Also, I pulled about a fistfull of sand out of the bottom of the drivers side fender when I took the liner out to pull the abs module. Im guessing the pass side is no different.

Of course I had to unplug the computer to get its box out and scrape all the shit out from under it, so now the idle is a little strage. Im assuming this will fix itself with some driving.

EDIT: sorry for any temp red x’s. I was moving albums around. Fixed now.

Couple new additions. Got it tinted last thrusday. So much nicer not being a fishbowl. I also took the time to de-amber the turnsignals while it was being tinted.

Then yesterday these showed up. 17" RS4 replicas with Falken 912s. Paid 808 shipped from discount. Worked out well as I sold the suburban 20s yesterday for 700 :). Probalby get them on next week sometime.

Dan

Nice car, I have an 00 in gold with the 1.8T and 5spd.

Looks great, what did you use to clean all the interior pieces with?

hot soapy water and then some 303 protectant spray we had at the shop.

Thats it.

Dan

everything but the shifter boot, i put in the dish washer. comes out great.

^ I always wanted to try that, just never wanted to risk anything being broken, melted etc.

Good call.

Dan

yeah it works great, i never let the dishwasher dry them. just air dry. but you can with the metal stuff. works great!

i shoulda done that on the cabriolet. That was like 873087340734 times dirtier than the avant. O well

Dan

$4400?

Damn, nice pick up.

^^ yessir. $4400… american even.

Dan

My newish headlight washer pump finallly showed tonight. Managed to get it and hte repaired abs module that Ive had since last monday back in tonight (after doing a fn cruise in a 07 Nissan, ugh).

No more flashing abs light! yay.

Dan

When the ABS module was on the frits, did the ABS work and just light up the cluster or did you have conventional brakes? I DESPISE the freaking ABS in my A4, DESPISE it.

I don’t mind the ABS, it’s the ESP in my B6 that I can’t Fvckin stand. I’m happy my B5 did not come with that option.

When the ABS module was not working (basically its not communiating with the main ecu) the ABS is not functional, and you just have conventional brakes. However, the bias is also not correct. When the ABS is non functional the bias is directed more towards the rear, as if you had a car full of people and a trunk full of whatever. So if your just by yourself and mash on the brakes the rear could come around faster than youd want. Thats the main reason I replaced it, since its my wife’s car.

Also doesnt the quattro use the abs sometimes to provide some resistance on a wheel that would otherwise be free spinning, so that the other wheel has something to “push” against? Or is that only on the newer versions?

Dan

Yeah, but that can be switched off, correct? I HATE when I try to stop and the ABS wigs out and the car will not stop. I think thats why I like the 4kq in the snow better.

I believe it is on the newer ones.

Well replumb the car to bypass the abs and add an external bias control. Shouldnt be THAT hard to do.

At least the abs isnt integrated into the master cylinder…

Dan

That would be the ESP I’m talking about on my B6… It does actually work very well and does what it’s suppose to do, but when you try and drift around a turn with it on it can really mess you up LOLZ…

Yes, just hit the ESP button… It’s just a pain in the ass when you forgett to turn it off.
