Ok, this is not a picture that i took but i couldnt resist.
my buddy newman (dude with STI and Elise) is putting an RB26DET-GT35R into an E30.
i’ve been sharing some of the updates with Dan and other people who i thought would appreciate the level of engineering that is going into the project… afterall, Newman is a very talented and well-compensated engineer in western NY…
he designed and then fabricated his own manifold for the car… here is a picture of it mounted.
Newman has designed a few things for me that are in production at present and he did this manifold up in CAD as well as a whole bunch of other little components for this build… it’s incredible.
i saw the car in person a couple weeks back when i was working on my car. Other cars in teh shop were a Lambo Countach, R33 GTR and R32 GTR… both legal… in the US… yeah
Yes, thats an absolutly amazing build-up, newman is incredibly skilled at what he does, I couldnt imagine having half the knowledge and skills he does.
He’s been posting it from the beginning on zilvia, for anyone that wants to see the complete build up from the start. Cant wait to see the thing running.
iono, i’ve never seen Tanabe coilovers before… these things kinda sorta look and feel awesome. Obviously fit and finish dont necessarily account for the whole $800 price difference, but damn… they sure to show really well.
Who makes the dampers?
Tanabe sways…
man, that’s alot of $$$ in branded products for a guy who is reputed to be only chinese knock off stuff eh? something is wrong
yeah, they are not cheap… but they show awesome… such nice looking pieces, i would almost rather sit them on the dining room table rather than mount them.
the tanabes are listed on teh site now theo… no endlinks… but i got you covered if you need em
Bing are you going to be running those on your car? Just curious. Looks awesome. I thought you were running stances long ago when you were talking about it on ziptied or something.
Tanabes are 30.4mm in front and 22mm in rear. Tubular and stock endlinks, but I’m wondering how they compare to Largus’ 31.5mm front and 27.5mm in the rear, (front being 3 way adjustable). Both the bars and solid endlinks are available at SPL.
I wonder how the two compare, with the front being adjustable and the rear being crazy thick.
And also has anyone heard of the ebay “Godspeed” bars, lol, apparently they are crush bent, they are THE largest rear swaybar at 28.29mm (insane) and 30.4mm in front… i wouldnt trust it however, its crush bent like a cheap exhaust. It’s super cheap, but that’s probably why.
Talking about chinese knock offs hehe here are the godspeed swaybars (not my pics, off nico):
