Pittsburgh tomorrow...what to do?

I’m pretty good about weekends away in new territory without much direction. I actually prefer the adventure of the unknown, but at times like to have an idea of things worth checking out.

Heading to a show in Pittsburgh, two car loads of us are heading out at 10am tomorrow and returning Sunday. Last time I was in Pitts was like 8 years ago when they imploded Three Rivers Stadium…was an in/out trip from Cleveland so we didn’t explore much.

I’m not a tourist, but am into:

*unique local foods
*delicious beer at non-douchebaggy bars
*walking the city and seeing unique architecture

Was thinking of making a visit at Hofbrauhaus…a recommendation based on a beer thread here.

Troy Hill Brewery on the North Side… German equipment, German brewmaster, German beers! (Plus I worked there as a bar-back for a while too :wink: )

Ride the Incline and walk East Carson Street. Great sights.

market square/ppg building are pretty nice this time of year with the xmas lights and skating rink up. Hofbrauhaus house is has good food. i dont drink so not sure about beer there though. id imagine its good. incline is a nice ride into station square/mt washington for sights.

Might not be as exciting but I’ll be hitting Mulaney’s Harp n Fiddle - good Irish Bar. An old College friend’s Irish band is playing. Even managed to score a sitter, so the wife’s coming out as well!

Both excellent Cheese Steak shops

Nadine’s in the South Side (dive bar, but great food). I’m certain there are others, but that’s what I can think of now.
