Pittspeed Fitness & Nutrition thread update:

Hey 240, on Monday I sort of took your advise. I did flat bench with “man weight” and was in the 4-5 rep range. Then for incline and decline I used a weight I could get for 20 reps. I say at about 13 or 14 reps I felt spent but with some focus I got the last 6-7. I havent went that light in a while and to telly ou the truth I had way more pump than when I stay in my normal 8-10 rep range. I am a bit more sore than normal as well. Just wanted to let you know I liked it and I am going to blast my back and bi’s 2night with the same routine.

240, have you ever used any preworkout supplements?

we been on GNC’s Nitro Explosion and its awesome… starting noticing gains in the first month and the first time i took it, i could tell it was in me… felt really warm and pumped up…energy shot

i Like No-Xplode

well when im trying to gain mass i take a meal replacement. i mix more water with it than normal and sip it slowly because if not ill get an upset stomach when i workout. ive actually puke quite a few times in the middle of workouts.

if im trying to lose bodyfat like right now ill use a energy supplement with 16oz water as soon as i get up which is when i usually lift.

im assuming nitro explosion is a pre-workout supplement containing caffeine and akg arginine?

jimmy

when i take arginine/creatine supplements i get incredible hunger urges. all i want to do is eat and then eat some more. i did see awesome gains in strength and some size but i also gained a few pounds of fat.

gnc’s nitro explosion has creatine and lots of carbs as well as L-Arginine. its pretty good

haha been there… i almost puked a few times and my friend who i lift with puked twice. LOL

what meal replacement you on? i was thinkin about one of those… probly from gnc… the mega mrp stuff

i like myoplex and optimum’s mrp but gnc’s mrp is pretty good too! i worked at gnc for almost 2 years so im pretty familiar with the pro performence line of products.

Anyone interested in knowing what I am feeding him… let me know…

PS I am down 13 pounds since January.

cool, now you have to show us

well i lift at 8am so i wake up at about 7am and drink a really watered down MRP and begin drinking water. after my workout take like 40 grams of protein/40 grams of carbs(white bread), 5grams of creatine and 5 grams of glutamine. thats what i do when im trying to gain mass and bulk up

when im looking to cut some of my excess fat off i sleep until like 730ish and as soon as i wake up i take some sort of energy/diet pill. the recent ones i used were VPX redline and Biotest hotrox. ill go to the gym and do my resistance training followed by cardio. post workout is similar but not the same. i still try to get 40 of each protein and carbs! i dont use creatine during cutting due to its diuretic effects because im already losing enough water from the cardio and diet/energy pill

Jimmy

i got ones with just pants on :):)

any tips for traps?

right now we do trap/shoulder shrugs on the barbell… usually do a warm up with 225, then 315… then two workin sets of real heavy… 445lbs now for 4-5 or so. then drop down to 315 for 10 or so.

try throwing in some DB shrugs, behind the back BB shrugs and 3-4 sets of upright rows! reps are going to be up to you but 8-12 is what i would do and go pretty heavy.
