WOW at all teh BS in this thread…
To all U people who have “grown up” and “moved on”…been there done that…
If you are really a true “car guy” or “gearhead” it is in your blood and it never really goes away. You just supress it because you have been told that having a wife and kids is “more important” and therefore since now you are now “more mature” and you have other responsibilities, you don’t have time for that silly car hobby any more.
Well guess what…20 years from now, you will regret all the time you wasted NOT doing what you really wanted to. And if you don’t feel this way in 20 or so years, then I guess you were only a poser and never really a true gearhead.
As far as “hanging out in parking lots” I suppose you just progress to “hanging out in parking lots at car cruises”. Ever notice that most of the folks at cruises are older? (even older than me) I’m sure there are some people there who just go out and buy a car because it is “the price of admission” and they just like to hang out with other people their own age and BS about most anything. But most people go because they JUST LIKE CARS, they like looking at cars, they like sitting and bench racing, etc. It’s in their blood and will always be…and there’s nothing really wrong with it. At least they are doing what makes them happy.
So…don’t ever give up something that you enjoy doing and/or something that makes you happy, for someone or something else…you WILL regret it later on in life, I promise you that!
