Im sry to hear… Anyone know if what i heard on the radio is accurate and this all started over a stolen mini van???

[/quote]

That is kind of correct. When Travis Trim (the shooter) was pulled over in what was suspected to be a stolen car he was also then going to be given the field sobriety test and that was when he shot the first trooper who is okay now.

I want to thank you all for remembering David. He was a wonderful man &he will be greatly missed.
We are leaving Sunday to go to Albany which is where they will be having a proper police ceremony. I’m not sure yet as to what is going on back here in Buffalo for those that are here.

If you knew David and would like to attend a ceremony here in town you can send me a message and I will be happy to keep you updated.
Again…thank you all!!!

I’m sorry for your loss. I’m sure you’ve already heard, but for the rest of the people on this site it’s looking like this may have been a friendly fire incident.

Sorry for your loss. I don’t understand why people shoot those who are here to protect us.

RIP

JUST AN UPDATE…SUCKS…

NEW YORK (CNN) – A New York state trooper who was thought have been shot and killed by an escaped convict this week is now believed to have been killed by friendly fire, authorities announced Friday.

Trooper David C. Brinkerhoff is thought to have been fatally shot by a fellow trooper while attempting to apprehend Travis Trim, 23, during a shootout in the man’s Margaretville home Wednesday afternoon.

Brinkerhoff was shot twice – first in his protective armor by Trim, and then by another state trooper, New York State Police Superintendent Preston Felton said.
