Pls help.

Ok, I know this isn’t a question about the s-chassis. But i figured since most of you guys eat sleep and breathe everything SR20 swaps this would be a great place to start.

The project: SR20det into a 1972 datsun 510

Time frame: 7 months

Goal: good reliable car that can be driven to the track. Stock motor+FMIC and exhaust.

Ok so here are my questions:

  1. I’m planning to buy a clip, and use everythign relevent. Motor, trans, ECU, harness, dash. I’m planning on have a driveshaft made, and using an R180 lsd from a subaru. The car is stripped completley. So any additional harness work will be done by me or painless performance. This is going to be a bare bones race car…so no accesories are required.
    so my question is, what else do you guys think i will need for the swap? any other suggestions to make this motor work in a different car using the stock ecu? Are there any additional sensors for the sr or anything i’m missing that will be needed to make it run in the car (i.e wheel speed, vaccum sensors etc…)?

I’m in the early stages of planning this swap, so any help is welcome. I’ve never done an sr swap before, but have LOTS of experience and have many people who have done them to turn to. I’m curious if there’s anything I’m missing or overlooking thus far.

I’m dowloading them as we speak…but i"m just wondering if anyone can see some problems coming my way that i’m not…seeing as you guys have MUCH more experience with these vehicles than me.

that doesn’t mean any experience with a 510

lol…oh trust me, i’ve got enough 510 experience to go around…anyway i’ve got a gameplan and have the swap almost comepltely planned out…thanks for your overwhelming support.
